This is a great amp. I use this for worship at church instead of my Fender Champion 40. It's my goto amp.

That'd tempting. Likely to go lower for BF?

The lowest I have ever seen this is 179 and that was many years ago. I would say get this now while it's available. They go out of stock alot, and this little guy is worth way more than 200! The most versatile amp out of my bunch.

I've done the same with a Celestion Vintage 30. This is a great little pedal platform amp.

Very cool mod; but nothing requires modification. That's just chocolate vs. vanilla as you wish. And while there are some great no cost circuit mods; the much better way to mod your tone (great variety out of the box) is pedals and such. And I always say the $35 Cube Baby is almost a must have multi FX box with this amp. As you get the best of all tube/non-tube worlds and high gain stacking etc etc etc.. Research Cube Baby. Try Temu.
I would say the Cube Baby is great if you are doing lowest budget possible. If you wanna spend slightly more , the Mooer modeler/fx units are pretty impressive for the price. I paid 60 for one during a flash sale on Amazon and it would have been fine but I opted to return it and invest in a Headrush MX5. The flexible signal chain was a key selling point.. that and unlimited 3rd party IR loader capabilities.

I really want this amp... but I have bought so many guitars the past few months, it is ridiculous. I bargained myself and said if I could get a coupon to work I would buy it, if not I would wait.... so now I wait..

unless I see an update on this thread.

May your booty be rich and your pockets full!

Which Roland is the Cube Baby? I am having a hard time looking it up. Cube-01? Micro cube GX?

I used to have a Microcube GX but sold it along with my guitar when I moved a few years back. Looks discontinued? Now I am on the hunt for slick replacements…

It's not a "Cube" Amp by Roland.. He is referring to this device. Its available on Amazon, Temu and Wish for the uber cheap.

I have an MX5 and a Cube Baby AC too. I was in the same boat as you and was resisting buying the amp for the longest time (I have a Katana Head... I should have bought the Monoprice amp when it was even cheaper several years back IIRC). Finally, earlier this year, I decided to bite the bullet and get the MP amp - no regrets at all. The sound and tones out of it are amazing. Admittedly, I haven't played with it a ton but currently I have my MX5 setup to go straight into the FX Return on the amp. It's a really nice setup. You should just get it. Buy now think later hahahaha

BTW: speaking of too many guitars - I recently picked up a PRS SE DGT and have the Vox Bobcat V90 Bigsby on the way Smilie

Must be made by the same people that make the Harley Benton amps. They look identical except the nameplate and a couple labels.

Hell yeah, I jumped the gun a few months back and grabbed the 5 watt for 80 bucks and am incredibly impressed with it. Actually that was the reason I got the Mx5.. I quickly calculated pedals were not the most bang for my buck.

I am so tempted but in recent months I've bought 2 Monoprice guitars and was able to resist the Vox Bobcats.. barely.. but succumbed to the Giulietta 3D that was also marked down by Korg Direct. I figured it was a rare opportunity to get an archtop with onboard modeling for $400, considering I didn't know they existed before. lol I figure between it and the MX5 there won't be any sound I can't make.
