Looks like the Buy 3 months Get 3 Months Free that Best Buy has been offering every October isn't coming this year. There are usually 2 deals around this time of year but this post is the only one from Best Buy so far. Not bad with all plans working out to $10-15 a month.

Best Buy has a 3-Month Mint Mobile sim/eSIM 15GB/Month + Unlimited Talk/Text + $30 Best Buy eGift Card for $60 & More + Free S&H

There's also a deal for unlimited data with a $45 Best Buy eGift card for $90.

These plans work out to $10 a month considering the gift card which can be used to roll the deal: These plans work out to $15 a month considering the gift card which can be used to roll the deal:There are also eSIMs available but the reviews are horrible. I purchased one but haven't tried activating yet. But I have used physical SIMs from Best Buy without issue and eSIMs from Mint Mobile's website without issue.

3-month 5GB eSIM [bestbuy.com]
3-month 15GB eSIM [bestbuy.com]
3-month Unlimited Data eSIM [bestbuy.com]

Contact Mint Mobile either through chat or calling right after you sign up and ask for your Account Number and PIN if you plan to port out after the 3 months. Trying to get it at the end of your 3 months can take over a day since their customer service works stupid hours and chat option will tell you an agent is on the way when they aren't even open. Save your port out information so you can quickly port out.

Target is running the same deal. If we hold off from activating for 2 weeks we might get 3 months free if they run the same promo from last year.

Easy switch. Bring your phone, port over, select a plan. I pay $200 a year for unlimited talk, text, and 5gbs of data. Comes out to about $16ish a month.

Holy crap. $84 a month just for service?

Yes that is correct 😔 I feel at&t in Connecticut is superior in the hills and valleys but willing to try other options in hopes they have advanced their services outreach.

Anyone know when the "promotional" gift cards expire?

You could probably do pretty good coverage wise with an AT&T mvno and it should cost less than half of the real AT&T.

If you're happy with the AT&T network maybe, instead of Mint(T-Mobile), you could try an AT&T MVNO like Red Pocket, Boost Mobile, Cricket, etc?

I did one of these deals about 2 years ago now and I've stuck with mint since.

Pros: no monthly bill is nice. The service is generally fine. The price is really good

Cons: there are times where you can tell your data is throttled even when you have not used your data allotment. You don't get preferred data usage even though mint is now owned by T-Mobile. The Wi-Fi calling is spotty at best. There are sometimes issues with sending RCS chat messages so you have to switch to SMS messaging. The problem is that it doesn't explicitly tell you this anywhere. That's just the hack that I found

Overall I am fairly happy simply because I was paying $130 a month for two phones on my previous plan. Now I've spent about $500 total for the last 2 years of service. For the price I cannot complain about the relatively minor issues I've had with the service. I am in Central Florida so every Network is spotty in my area.

If you're on the fence the best thing you can do is check it out for the promo. Just make sure you redeem those cards as soon as possible because once they expire that is it you will not be able to get them to activate something after your 45 days is up!

I've been with them since February and will likely stay after my 12 months is up. Wifi calling on my Pixel 7 Pro is working well, though admittedly I don't connect to many different networks. FYI, according to TmoNews [tmonews.com] Mint is still a "planned acquisition".

For anyone who is concerned I was able to transfer my number out to another carrier for a month and transfered my number back and was able to activate this deal without an issue.

Can someone help this dummy?

I pay at&t $84 a month per month for a phone I bought outright 3 years ago. I get 9gb per month of data.

I want to keep my same number, upgrade my phone and pay less than $80

Thanks!
If you stay where wifi is available most of the time, you don't need that much of data. 4gb/m for $15 is good enough.

Mint only handles the top-tier phones in-house.
Q1 Wireless processes the rest so that's a good thing. Read all the horror stories on Reddit.

The esim reviews are customer service reviews and not the product. I bought mint mobile a month ago, 3month plan via esim, no issues and work as expected.

This isn't a Mint problem. I have Tmobile and I've had that problem for awhile.

There was a time when phone bills for some heavy users were $500-$1000+ per month...every month...back then you paid per minute and for data usage...things have gotten so much better for everyone.
