Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Got mine at WM today; the nearest WM had no one at the electronics / phones counter, but another staff nearby told me they had heard another Walmart about 2 miles away had staff and stock.

Went across; the other store had one left (the staff mentioned they had had 4 in the morning, and 3 other customers had bought before me.). 49 + $35 plan + taxes.

Thanks OP.

It's out of stock online right now. To get the deal though, you had to add both to cart and then remove the plan. Last I tried, it was still working, but currently the phone is OOS.

How does it work online? I added the phone and plan but the price remains the same on the phone.

They unlock in two months.

Some will use, some will use as trade , some will resell

Not even a trade in option on Samsung site though

Has anyone gotten shipping confirmation for an order where the order status page doesn't work? I called about my order earlier today and the rep said the order still showed as pending in their system, but when I try to check the order status on my laptop the page just refreshes.

Same for 2 orders (no plan) guest checkout around 10:15 AM EST today. Shipping seems random.

Put two orders for two phones each this morning with the $35 plan, and got an email while at was at work that the second one (placed around 7am PST) was "successfully cancelled" with no other explanation. First order (placed about half an hour earlier) is still "Pending remote fulfillment"

There isn't a 3 month plan requirement. Per ST website all you need is a plan above $45 "Save $100 with any $45 or higher Plan Purchase Required"
The $45 "plan" on the ST website is a $45 per month / 3 month "plan". Specifically says "90 days". I'm reading that as a "contract" to get the reduced price.
If there is a specific 1 month $45 plan, please post a link or pic or anything. Thanks 👍🏼
