Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

activated in store on their WARP system.
Anyone having issues where the email account was created on straighttalk, but the device is not even attached to the account?
Normally the device/line should already be attached to the ST account, otherwise what's the point of WARP system setting up the account?

I sent Straight Talk copies of much of the paperwork including copies of the pin codes. They responded amazingly quick and sent me two new pin codes that worked.
Call multiple ST support and explain to them my situation. They couldn't help me and just straight up hang up on me twice.

From what I remember for the iphone 11 they didn't notify either. You had to find out on the website or check the tracking.

And it was either chargeback or wait a month for them to suddenly refund your money. If you chargeback Tracfone will put you on their list.
Seens i m on the list i did chargeback last time nd now i m not able to order. Any suggestion on how to get off the list?

If i activate the phone with ST $45 plan that comes with it, then it should unlock internationally after 60 days on just wifi right? No need to be in US for unlock?

With no service, I assume you can not receive a text from Straight Talk the day it is unlocked. So I assume you check the Iphone settings which will show sim unrestricted correct? I think someone posted earlier, if you are going to sell it, just leave it in the box unopened and wait the 60 days. So there must be a way to check the IMEI to verify unlocked status
they don't send you a text for unlock anyway.

Bought from Straight Talk, would it be possible to just leave it in the box or should I activate to make sure I start the 60 day unlock?

Facts... 2 orders I placed this morning through Straight Talk's website went through and I got a confirmation email that they both shipped...
Same here. Amazingly quick considering the demand on these.

This is so Tracfone! Looks like a few "lucky" ones are NOT so lucky after all. Those of us whose orders didn't conform to the current "rules" and are still in the "pending remote fulfillment" status may never hear from them. Hopefully they'll give us a quick refund. What a drama!

But they are activated on Verizon - Verizon has owned Straight Talk & Tracfone & Total by Verizon for 2 years.
Thanks. Repped. I wasn't aware of that. Their unlocking policy talks about activation on AT&T and T-Mobile as well and there was no option in the checkout flow to select the network. That's why I got confused.

Yeah, that clause seems to be a relic of when they were still in the transition. It tends to draw some confusion, but there are loads of threads with everyone getting unlocks after 60;days on ST and Tracfone.

The WARP system and ST completely messed it up.
WARP order clearly show the IMEI WITH the $35 service plan. However, ST say there is no plan and phone not activated at all.
So I got scammed for the service plan.
