Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Do not swap sims, use original phone sim in TW iphone to activate. Sims are linked to IMEI of phone they ship with. If your TW iPhone is new you can just activate online as a TF & choose keep current number - TF plan/number will move to the new phone.
If your TW phone has been used on TW you likely will need to have support rebrand.
The TW phone was activated before the new unlock policy and unfortunately, the SIM card is lost (I was gifted this iPhone). Yeah that's my plan, to rebrand it to see if I can use it on TF and possibly unlock it in 60 days. I just don't want to buy another line.

Been keeping an eye on this deal. Any chance that WM will have stock after Nov 12. I'm out of the country and won't be home until Sunday. I can't currently access the ST website from where I am, but I can try later today with a VPN.

You likely will have issues unlocking - unfortunately I'm pretty sure you need to contact support about unlocking with a different sim. Since it was previously activated they may hold you to the 12 months service requirement, I have an older android phone that was deactivated & reactivated & is stuck in 12 month limbo (they wanted me to add new service time not carry over service from previous line) so I just moved number to another phone. I got tired of playing games with support.

Just received my phone without plan that I ordered from the Straight Talk website around 3pm on Monday. The one I ordered Monday at 10am still hasn't shipped.
Did you receive the shipping email?

single phone Brought from ST with $45 Plan.

Any idea what needs to be done?

I did get the shipping confirmation email for the one I received but not for the one I ordered first. The order status for that one still says "Pending remote fulfillment".

I ported out my number 5-6 days before the end of the first month and there was no problem with the phone getting unlocked later on.
If that's the case, maybe you can activate 2 phones with one plan. Activate one phone first, then after 15 days, activate another one with transferring number. Maybe finally 2 phone will both get unlocked?

The sim will show unlock date of phone it's activated in not the phone you have it in. Swapping sims is not recommended since sim is linked to phone IMEI.
If you want to unlock 2 phones in 60 days you will need to activate both phones with a plan.
Have you tried to use one 30 day pla to unlock 2 phones? Activate one phone first, then activate the other phone after 15 days with transferring number

So I just bought the phone and the 1 month silver plan, am I going to need to purchase another month of service to get me to 60 days if I'm ultimately trying to unlock?

The question here would be is it worth it to save a few $ in case it doesn't work?
There's a reason longtime Tracfone/Straight Talk users always say YMMV - what works for some doesn't always work for others.

No I haven't. I'd rather do it the right way & be sure the phone will unlock. This screwed up deal is why I don't play games with TF/ST, sometimes it comes back to bite you.

If something goes wrong it's frustrating as ** trying to get it fixed. It may be weeks before people here get their returned phones refunded.

Lucky me - UPS delivered one SE3 (without a plan). Was able to activate the phone on my TF plan without issue. Serial # revealed that my SE3 was manufactured on May 2022 so it is from their fairly old inventory.

Best of luck!
