4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.
When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:
1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. The SE 2022 is also $49.00 on the Straight Talk website. You still need to add a plan to get the sale price. I just bought 2 phones on the $35.00 plan and used a cashback bonus from my Capital One card.

Kind of wished I hopped on this earlier so I could take a lottery with the no plan. Oh well, still can't complain for $100.
Even if I were to get it without a plan, I still need to purchase a plan later anyways if I wanted to get unlocked later. If someone wants to use the phone as a regular phone, an activation and plan is going to be needed. It isn't like just a $49 phone purchase would automatically unlock two months later. The cheapest straight talk plan appears to be $35. I am not thinking about flipping on ebay so I am using it. I am not thinking about trying tracfone $10 plan with auto refill or $15 without auto refill and hope and wait.
I am not bothered much missing out on just the $49 phone without plan deal because a plan is going to be needed anyways. I think the flippers who tried to buy in bulk are bothered by it.
