Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

You'll probably screw up the first screen protector so it's best to have spares. Wink I have one of those ORlbox cases and it fits great, feels good in the hand. But it's hard to go wrong with Spigen.
Thanks. I'll give the dollar tree a try first for $1.25, but I've got a Spiegen on my moto z2force and it's perfect since that phone is so slim in the first place.

I love the small size of this iphone SE.

The phone I ordered from straighttalk arrived today. I put the sim in and it doesn't activate. The imei says it's not eligible when I try to log in online

Yes 60 days after I activated
How do you check that? I text "UNLOCK" to 611611 and it reply buying saying I use me own device and give me no unlock info. This is for Tracfone, not Straight Talk.

I purchased directly from the Straight Talk website and just got my phone. It won't allow me to activate on their website and when I call the number to activate it's asking me for a 15 digit plan pin number. What the heck is going on?

Can we power the phone off and leave it in a drawer for 61 days to eventually unlock after we've confirmed the unlock date by texting UNLOCK to 611611? Or do we have to leave the device on? laugh out loud

Those that are not planning to keep the phones, what's the best route to flip - Apple Trade in for $155 Apple gift card or wait 60 days for unlock and sell on marketplace?

I already did that and don't see anyone addressing the 15 digit pin for those who bought directly from Straight Talk.

It sounds like you're set up as a BYOD device. Did you call a rep to have them activate it.? They sometimes seem to set it up that way by mistake. Or did you maybe pick "have my own unlocked phone" instead of "new phone" when activating?

So if I activate Straight Talk phone with Tracefone number, the phone will not be unlocked? If so, I can purchase Straight Talk plan and made this phone automatically unlocked after 60 days?

Some phones don't go through automatically on the website. Try the phone method detailed by p0tempkin earlier on the previous page. Oops … just saw you tried the phone method. You may need to call a rep, as they might have messed up linking the plan to yours. If you ordered from ST, they should be able to look up your order and see the plan was purchased. I'd have your order number handy when you call.
