Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

My phone got activated with Tracfone and I can't use it at all. It just connects me to st then it connects me to tf then they just hang up. I just called Citi and disputed the charge.
Typical TF / ST mess

Which is Verizon

I have feeling they are data mining all of us. They really don't care about customers, they just want to rip us off one way or another.

Also false advertising should be investigated on them and Walmart.

If they took your money and not shipping it in a reasonable amount of time, then they are banking your funds for interest I bet. Notice you cant cancel and orders they dont ever ship, thats evidence of their schemes.

Purchased two of these first things Monday morning, both with the $45 plan. Still no shipping information and just the "pending remote fulfillment" designation. Spoke to them in chat yesterday and they said it would ship yesterday. Spoke to chat again today and they wanted to have the higher department call me. They called 15 minutes later and apologized…said they pushed it on through (or something along those lines) and I would receive tracking today and the phones tomorrow. Still haven't seen a charge anywhere.

I honestly picked this deal and chose to do it online instead of going in store for simplicity. I guess I have learned my lesson with Straight Talk. Tons of people buying these to flip or try to activate on other carriers, but they can't even ship them to the legit customers. Just seems that an online order for prepaid wireless should not be this big of a hassle.

Included sim is linked to phone IMEI, likely will not activate in different phone.
Using a TF sim kit will activate phone as BYOP & then it may not unlock.
Might be best to activate & wait 60 days then move to TF.
OK, but if I use the included SIM and activate the phone on my existing TF line, it should unlock right? I found an older deal thread where you said this would work: https://slickdeals.net/f/16915270-128gb-apple-iphone-se-2nd-gen-straight-talk-prepaid-2020-model-99-90-free-shipping?p=165790552#post165790552

I did not rebrand, got ST SE3 from WM & activated using my current TF number, phone unlocked at 60 days.
Always use included sim which is generic TF brand & linked to phone.
Activate on TF website (I have a Tracfone) & enter IMEI. Follow prompts. Buy whatever TF plan you want.
If it won't activate for some reason (it's usually because WM employee forgot to scan) then call TF support and verify the problem.

My initial orders are cancelled and all those charges are in pending state. My one order placed later with $45 plan just got delivered. I am yet to activate the service.

I ordered the phone directly from straight talk website with the $45 plan, received the phone today and activated it with the SIM card that came with the phone. I will wait for 60 days and see if it get unlocked.

Mine would not activate online, so I called, the automated system and that didn't work either. It finally transferred me to a person, and they were able to set it up. Done
Didn't have to insert the Sim or open the box?
