Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

The plan is within the SIM card. Just activate it.
They said they ordered the phone without a plan (some of the early orders went through like that)

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly 100% . I have been posting the same thing for the past two days.

I even decided to place a 3rd order with the $45 plan last night and just my luck , no movement on that one either.
I ordered last Tuesday and didn't want to risk ordering a plan different from the advertised $45 plan. I know it will be a headache dealing with this guys if something is off. 4/5 phones came today, called ST number on the sim and activated the sim and everything went without a glitch.

Ordered phone with $45 plan 11/7, shipment notification 11/7, delivered(UPS signature required) 11/9

Phone shipped with sim packet taped onto box. No separate plan placard.

Unable to activate online, called number on SIM card and breezed through the automated activation system.

Confirming that the $45 plan is preloaded into the SIM card.

Texted unlock to 611611, didn't work. Made an another quick phone call to test out the line, texted the unlock number, got unlock date 1/9

Thanks for the much needed upgrade OP! My 6S was on its last legs

Hmm they shipped me the phone I ordered without a plan, UPS said it was return to sender but UPS driver just dropped it off. The back of the phone has some total by verizon / straight talk sim card on the back of it. So do I just go on the straight talk website and signup for a plan and use this sim? Or did I screw myself by not doing a plan when ordering it.
If you want to keep the phone. Do something tonight. It will take a day of so for the fraud department to find out the phone was delivered. If you want it on Tracfone, call now, play dumb and say you would like your phone rebranded as Tracfone. If you want Simple Mobile, activate it with the cheapest plan tonight. Whatever you do, get it done tonight.

Over many threads with similar issues, I've never seen them blacklist phones that were recalled but slipped through for things like this. They may do it for chargeback phones where people basically never paid for them, but this was basically just a deal they didn't intend to get out but was still paid for in the end. And if they were to blacklist a phone, the fact that it's active wouldn't matter and it would just kill the service.

Did you use another phone to call since my se with the included sim can not activate. Was it 1-877-430-2355? Thanks.

Yes, used another phone number to call in.

I used the number on the red accordion booklet(there's a sticker of the SIM card and serial number in there)- "Straight Talk Wireless…..or call 1.877.430.2355"

Bump. This is very helpful and it accurate! Found it after struggling through the process.

Wow, sounds like you slipped through. When did you place your order?
Use the SIM that came with it, but you can activate it on Tracfone for cheaper plans ($15 or $10 with autopay)
Order was put in pretty late, about 5:15pm on 11/6.

Is there info on how to activate it on TF with the cheaper plans? I just want to get the phone unlocked after 60 days.
