Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Maybe, but don't ever depend on anything their reps say. Between their ineptitude and the sheer randomness of some of their systems, you never know what's going to happen until it's over. At least one person's order went from being canceled to reinstated without even being requested. Sure, they may get canceled, but I wouldn't be completely surprised if some of them still end up going out. You never know with those guys.

Yes! that's exactly what I don't like about it.
I've been waiting for a deal on a newer iphone so I'm hanging on to the 11 for now.

Got the iPhone SE 2022 for my Dad. I like it but I need more than 64gb

Some other guy said he had someone in electronics help him at 6am I guess it depends on your store. I'm not sure if these are flying off the shelves in store, so if opens at 10am go then, I guess, up to you. This deal last till the 26th idk if they're going to "sell out" or not, this isn't a highly desirable iPhone model

Yeah online went to $99 and probably won't change. It also won't let you remove the plan anymore, a bunch of people did that and dealt with cancelled orders etc so they were doing some sort of "correction" on site. So in store is only way now

You have a Walmart that isn't 'affiliated' with straight talk. Supposedly only stores are able to activate in store these days and it's kind of 'hired out'. Essentially like having a Verizon in the Walmart it's a straight talk. That's how it was explained to me at least. They could have sold me the phone but I wouldn't be activated and wouldn't get the deal but they did tell me a store I could go to that it would work at.
