Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Didn't notice that. Looks like you need the Go5G plan for the $830 other plans are like $350 off which is still good for a phone you paid $85 for haha.
Based on the t-mobile subredit, plenty of people had been buying SE3 from Walmart (at $149 before this deal) to use them (instead of their one or two year old iPhone's) for trade-ins. This ST deal can save them another $50, or $100 if ST hadn't caught their mistake in time and had shipped out those plan-less orders Wink

But the $830 credit only works for Go5G Next or Plus customers. You'll be committed to 24 months' service after the trade-in in order to receive the credit in full. So you're new to T-Mobile, you should research if T-Mobile works better for you than your current carrier. I'm a Go5G+ customer, but I'm not particularly interested in an iPhone 15 and I'm not sure if SE3 will continue to be on the higher tier when 16 comes out next year.

Is anyone else seeing the message

"We apologize. We cannot process your transaction at this time. Please try again later or call us at 1-877-430-2355."

When you try to find your order status? Tbh, I'm kinda hoping they cancel my order at this point. ST changed the terms and price mid-deal and now it looks like they are changing their unlocking policy (per previous comment)?

Quick question: once this is unlocked, can I use this phone with a Red Pocket GSMT yearly plan?

I just got the same message now, unprompted. It may be a policy update text that was sent to everyone:

I texted unlock to 611611 right after, and got the same unlock date(2 months from now)

So the text was a little worrisome so I looked through it and it still has this portion regarding verizon and 60 days:

But here's a little blurb on the bottom that' caught my eye:

Edit- just logged in. I didn't even sign up for auto pay and they saved my CC info in my account. Damn, there's an issue with my account so i cant even delete my CC info, let alone change account details 🥲
Those text and "updated" legal terms have been there for the past two years (after VZ bought TF).

3 orders made 11/9 4am PST, 2 blacks each. Separate shipping add. None have shipped. Where do you check the status ? The order number + email order status check just shows tracking not provided.

Talking to Tracfone/Total wireless/Straight talk CS is like talking to a 3 year old. They all trained by idiots.

Yea, they are pretty useless. And in every call I have had with them, they can't/won't do anything.

In somewhat a similar situation.
Received the phone yesterday. Set it up and tried to activate it, with no luck. Spend 3 hours on the phone with cs, with 3 times call dropped in the middle of the conversation.
Tried this morning and was told that a 'superior' will call me in the next 45 mins. Its been more than 3 hours since then with no call.
Phone or service is not activated , with no clue what to do now.
Really frustrated.

Thanks for chiming in, and really glad to hear its the same verbiage!

I'm bit of a worry wart and money's been a little tight recently, so that "up to 300"+ saved CC debacle really got my heart going for a minute 😅

The irony of a company named "Straight Talk" lacking transparency during a big screw-up of their own making is something to behold. It would have been nice if ST had acknowledged their mistakes and clearly explained what they were going to do about the situation. Yet, instead, we get silence instead of straight talk.
