Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Bumping this to know if there is time limit we need to activate the SIM? If I just keep devices and activate after 6 months, will I be able to use $45 plan?
Considering how many are having issues with getting phone/plan activated I wouldn't wait - what if it wasn't added correctly?

Once the phone is unlocked, do you have to call Straight Talk to cancel the account/number?
Don't have to do anything if gonna use it on another carrier. The line is suspended after 30 days and will cancel after 60 days if you don't keep paying.

I went to the Super WM near Trenton, NJ and they had phones in stock. However, they don't sell plans at the store so it was $149 Mad
How do they sell prepaid phone but no service plan cards? Were there none on display counter? I know they can also apply service plan with WARP kiosk if they have it there. But not having any service plans available is odd.

In this case I am not planning to activate at all. Plan to use it next year and activate at that point of time.

This phone is blazing fast. Very impressed with the performance so far.

After so many years of using the large phones, you almost forget how comfortable the iphone SE 2022 feels. I will see how I can adjust to go back to using a 4.7" screen size and see how the battery life does. I do have an ipad so that helps at home. The iphone se 2022 ips screen looks nice to me so I don't care much about amoled vs ips.
Yep, I much prefer these over the huge iPhone 11 and such, as I'll grab my iPad for any serious browsing. One thing that I recommend if things look too small is the iOS "zoomed" mode. It basically makes everything look bigger (icons and running apps). You can do some more fine tuning using the "text size" adjustments, but that zoomed option does pretty well to compensate for the smaller size. It's under Settings / Display and Brightness / Display Zoom / Larger Text.

Is there a way to make the app "cover" smaller than default? I just want background picture to be more visible. I made the text size at the smallest and it didn't reduce the "square size"

Last two ordered last night before price jump in single order got shipped out this morning.
I ordered my phone on Monday (only one) with plan. It still says Pending fulfillment. I called ST 9 times and got the run around saying it is out of stock to your order is not valid. One said the order has been cancelled even though I never got an email. My credit card was charged on Monday - what should I do - dispute the charge with credit card company or wait to see if it ships till next week - Nobody at straight talk has any idea what is going on - they just say whatever comes to their mind. Now no phone and a credit charge. Horrible customer service.

The clueless rep even called over the manager and I showed her the ad on my phone and she said they don't sell plans and I'd have to go to another WM about 5 miles away.

They will not ship it out, trust me. Either you dispute the charge with cc or wait for 1 month for their refund.

Got this deal for $95 after tax. It a great deal.

All I did was showing them the non-Walmart employee, responsible for signing up the phone, the promo of this deal, along with the FACT that today is in-store BF event and they followed.

Is there any way we can confirm phone has been unlocked without opening the package? I bought in store and it was activated on the spot.

I was in the same situation. The phone was sent to me without the plan being linked. Someone at Straight Talk didn't do their job. I was able to get it resolved by messaging them on twitter. You just need to wait a few minutes and be ready to answer because once they respond you only have two minutes to indicate you are there or they move onto the next customer.
Yup I had a similar thing where the plan wasn't linked to my sim either. When I called, the rep said my phone was hooked to Total by Verizon instead of straighttalk and that I needed to buy a plan to activate. I mentioned I already bought a plan when I bought the phone, so she had to pull up my order number. From there she rebranded my phone to straight talk, had to create a new account, and then credited me the $45 plan, upon which it finally activated on my end. Took about a ~30min call to resolve.

No. You need to turn on the phone for it to recognize it is activated
