Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Today at Walmart, maybe at 3pm, there are some se3 in stock, I ask about the plan that is needed to activate and the representative tell me 35$ plan is the cheaper option(not 45$) , Iam thinking seriously to buy another but….. I am still waiting for a promo about another model like iPhone 12 or 13 in the prox days

Just got a shipping email for a pending remote fulfillment order.
Well I guess there's hope, talking to ST CS is of no help, they even told me I could file a chargeback with my bank if I didn't receive the device before the end of the fifth day after the order...which was last night

Activated mine by phone (thanks for that tip to those who posted about it!) and it activated no problem. Texting "UNLOCK" to 611611 sent back a date of 1/10/24 for unlock. Easy peasy!

(I bought mine from the Straight Talk website with the $45 plan)

Walmart is commiting tax fraud possibly. Lawyers need to look at this.
This is how it has been for over a decade for me with multiple service providers. If Verizon gave me a free $500 phone, I had to pay tax on the free phone @ $500.

It is a stipulation so that retailers/service providers could offer phones at discounts under MSRP/MAP pricing as long as it is tied to starting a new line of service.

It looks that many Walmarts have a decent stock of these phones. What is upsetting
is that Walmart charges tax on the $150, rather than $49, so the receipt appears
to have double the tax amount; I wonder if this is legal (we should pay tax on what we pay;
buying directly from ST the tax was fine).
Tax codes can get very complex regarding discounted merchandise and it's not at all uncommon for tax to be charged on the full price. When ST offers the discount, it happens differently from an accounting perspective than when the sale occurs through a third party like Walmart. For instance, the technical process may be more akin to ST reimbursing Walmart through some kind of instant rebate type of transaction, which can definitely complicate things versus ST simply offering a sale price. At any rate, if anyone is doing anything wrong or shady as far as tax transactions, the smart money would be on ST doing it wrong versus Walmart. You can guarantee they've got auditors on top of auditors reviewing that kind of thing. ST probably has the janitors taking care of the paperwork on their down time, lol.

i activated 2 lines today. both are working fine. said activated. made phone calls, etc...
but then i cant pull the 2 lines on my accounts at all. there are no phone or lines activated or working under my account. maybe because we said "no" on the "add to an existing account"?

another note is my account after signed in. listed the right order and transaction. but the phone number is some strange number. and my name is just listed as "My account" as my first name and no last name.

Ordered directly on ST. They have increased price to $99 on ST's website. Only place to get this still at 49 is Walmart in-store

People were ordering them directly from Straight Talk's website, but unfortunately, the deal on their website is dead. Now Straight Talk charges $99 for the phone and you have to buy the $45 plan as well.

Did you check Walmart's website to see which store had it in stock? Walmart's website should be able to tell you. The only place you can get the phone for $49 now would be in-store Walmart.

There is a lot of stock at Walmart near me. (91502/91402)
they got around 250 of them but sold only 2 because of uninformed reps.
but sadly the reps are not able to apply discount to the order.
It seems they need the manager to add a discount.
tried to upsell me att plans but I walked out.

Yes i checked in Walmart Store, they said they don't have stock right now. But maybe after 2 weeks will get the stock back and not sure about future price.
Probably i would proceed buy in StraightTalk website and proceed the same process.
