Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

I'll share my experience with this deal. I inquired about this at a local Walmart today. I was told they had the phones for the advertised price. But it does require a plan and the in-store activation. I thought this was too easy.
I'll preface this by saying I'm already a ST customer. I didn't even think about not being able to keep my old number. That's my bad. They told me I had to get a new number. OK, now it doesn't seem as great of a deal to me. I was asking myself if I really wanted to go through the headache of changing my phone number or not. So, I ask how long this promotion is going to last, just in case I do actually decide to take it. He tells me the promotion ends tomorrow, 11-14-2023. That didn't sound right to me but I accepted their answer and left the store. After I left the store,I decided to check the WM website. It clearly states that the promotion ends 11-26-2023 I call the same store tonight inquiring about the promotion end date and was told the same 11-14-2023.

I called a WM in another city just now asking them about the promotion end date The lady was very nice and helpful. She told me the promotion is handled by a third party and that she would feel better with the third party answering my question concerning the promotion end date. She gave me the hours that they work. I'll probably call tomorrow just to see the answer I get.

Does anyone know what happened to those orders with $35/$45 plan after they were returned back to sender ?
My tracking already returned back to their original location.

I got one with manager override, my receipt shows phone 49, plan 35, but no normal check contract document etc. I assume the plan is not tied to phone? Thinking of sell the 35 plan at eBay and just activate the phone with my existing straight talk plan.

This promotion is a mess - like others pointed out, it's best to call in (assuming somebody answers) to see if the shop can activate the plan (WARP system or whatever) otherwise is just a waste of time.

Just adding another data point for a Walmart shop that had the phone in stock yet could not activate the promo - the clerk told me he's seen at least 10-15 people asking for the deal before me without success.

Call it false advertising or whatever, it simply didn't work.

If you can get the deal, take it. Be sure and have a burner email. Have Walmart activate on new line with burner email. Wait 61 days and then transfer your number by BYOP or call Straight Talk and see what you can get worked out. There is risk in having it changed to Straight Talk before you wait for it to get unlocked. IMO, wait the 61 days until it shows sim unrestricted.
Someone above did that, and now the phone shows BYOB and will be next to impossible to get unlocked

People have reported activating se3 esim on TF - think it's even on the website. Call was dropped because rep didn't know what to do - seems to happen a lot.
Call back, doubtful anyone will call you.

FYI-https://support.tracfone.com/en/brands/Apple/TFAPISE3ESIM/faq/3104671/
Update: Success! The callback rep was able to send another activation refresh, and my iPhone got the notification this time! She also confirmed that this would count as a new activation and will unlock in 60 days. Unfortunately, texting UNLOCK says the device is BYOD. Has that hurdle been overcome before? TIA!

Still "Pending remote fulfillment" from 11/6 orders, so I disputed all 4 purchases. I hope that I'm blacklisted on Tracfone so that this never happens again.
Don't worry. You just guaranteed a blacklist.

Looks bad for the home team. Something similar happened to me last Black Friday. You might want to trade it for a Pixel 8 at Best Buy in the coming days.

Not a smart move on his part. He really thinks their will never be another Black Friday or phone deal

It should be refunded once they get it back into the system, etc. I'd give it a couple of weeks and then file a CC dispute if it doesn't come through after a while. They generally take care of it for the ones recalled, but there was one thread which was a huge mess and they screwed up a bunch of orders so loads of people had to dispute. It was a mess … you'll see lots of leftover rage-posts from that deal in these threads. Smilie

My 11-8 order of two phones with 45/30 plans went from no status to "Pending remote fulfillment" Saturday to "Shipped" yesterday and just now changed from no information on the UPS tracker to "Label Created." Hopefully they rounded up a couple of phones for me and this is progress.
