Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Can anyone recommend some credit cards that offer good warranties for phones? Most the recs online are for cards that offer phone insurance when using them to pay the monthly service bill. Is there a card that offers insurance/warranty when you use it pay the entire cost of the phone up front? Ideally something Chase, Delta Amex, BOA, or Discover.

I'm guessing that ST is putting a limit on this deal by requiring a unique email for each transaction.

The stock in their webpage is not for the bundle but for the iPhone 150$ the bundle has different tag number better ring them before you drive I drove to one in the same situation to learn that they don't have stock to the bundle
So am I supposed to look for a bundle in the store? Or does seeing an available iPhone SE 3 in the case and requesting that along with a one-month plan work? If it's a special "tag number," does anyone have the number so I can do a specific check for stock at my local store before I go in?

Every state taxes these things differently based on what the state calls it (rebate/coupon etc). Not WM's fault, they follow state guidance.
Yes, of course, I know WM has no control over that.

No, there's no bundle per se. It's just a Straight Talk iPhone SE 3. The plan gets added in the computer, so there's no actual plan card unless they do some kind of extra printout of the activation number (which is not needed as long as they activate it correctly) or if they do the manual price override method and have you buy one of the physical cardboard plan cards separately. I wouldn't mention anything about bundle though, as it's likely to just cause confusion. Just say you want the $49 iPhone deal and let them go from there.

Here's what the box looks like …

Some cards offer extended warranty coverage on purchases by default (usually just up to one year extra). Google your card plus "extended warranty" and see what comes up. For instance, here's info for various Amex cards …

https://www.americanexpress.com/u...terms.html

Some cards also do "purchase protection" in case it's lost / stolen / broken, but that's getting more rare these days and it's often just for like the first 90 days when they offer it.

I bought iPhone and plan at Walmart. requested NO auto refill.

Activated phone and got text saying:
Due on 12/14...
...
estimated renewal...
...
39.56
...

I got into my straight talk account and there is no payment method on file and no auto refill enabled. Is there any chance Walmart will auto refill from the card I swiped or am I all good? I don't get why I got this text.

Thank you

Everyone does, it's to remind you it's month to month & if you continue that's when payment is due. Just ignore.

I got this today at my local Walmart. I tried to buy it at 8:30 am, but the "phone guy" wasn't in and wasn't scheduled to be there until 12 or 1 pm. I came back at 1 pm and tried to order the phone, but the "phone guy" didn't have the key to the cage. After, waiting 15 minutes the guy with the key showed up and unlocked the cage and brought out the phone. I told him I wanted the $35 plan, but he said it had to be the $45 plan to get the phone for $49. Is that true?

Not unless it changed. When I went to Walmart a week ago he said it showed it worked on the $35,$45,and $55 and more plans. Two hours later he said Straight Talk was down and wouldn't activate any phones even though others at other stores didn't have the same issue. Then tried to sell my a newer version iphone on a different carrier. It was super sketchy but the system did let him try the $35 plan supposedly.

The whole thing has been a mess and Walmart's cell phone guys are either sketchy or oblivious.

All the advertising says "any straight talk plan" but also indicates "Offer not available for Family (Multiline) plans." The $35 plan meets both criteria. Someone suggested you have the salesperson attempt doing the $35 plan just to see if it will work. Also, if he says $45 plan is required, maybe he can show you his literature that says so.

Edit: just reread that you already purchased, so my suggestions are moot. To answer your question, the $35 plan should've been enough.
