Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Issue is that I can't fix it with Apple because they want a receipt that shows IMEI which ST does not provide. Had I purchased in store, guessing Wally World provides this
Did you get an email from them that says "shipped"? If so, that usually has the IMEI in it (although it can appear as a mess of HTML code in some cases)

So Walmart employees aren't being truthful if they said it ended yesterday. You can literally go to the Straight Talk website homepage for the deal and click more details and this is what it says:

"Offer valid 11/6/23-11/26/23 while supplies last. Must activate on Straight Talk plan in-store at your local Walmart. Limit of two devices per customer. Offer not available for Family (Multiline) plans. Straight Talk is a registered trademark of TracFone Wireless, Inc., a Verizon company. ©2023 TRACFONE. © 2023 Apple"

Yeah, store lies all the time. You need to bring proof , ask for manager

I need help!

I bought 2 iphone SE's at walmart yesterday. Paid $101 each. The activation didn't work. The premium wireless guy told me to give it a few hours and come back today if it didn't work. Straight talk says they don't see a plan or activation for the phone. I got a refund on the 2 phones for $49/each. But customer service says they can't refund the plan money. Straight talk can't refund it because they say they didn't see it. The premium rep says he doesn't have any way to do it.

I'm out $50/each for the 2 phones and don't have a phone or a plan. What do I do?

I left a note for the manager but I suspect the employee is just going to toss it in the trash.

I called walmart customer service and they weren't able to help either.

mine is accurate purchase first day instore they sold me phone with price override sealed and $35 plan

Purchase Date: November 6 2023

Apple Care Warranty shows
Limited Warranty
Expires: November 05, 2024
Yeah, it looks like it's working differently now than it has in the past. I got curious about the warranty thing and decided to look at an SE 3 that I have from the $149 deal in August. Here are the key dates from that phone …

ST phone purchased at Walmart on 8/10
Network-activated on TF account on 8/11 (phone still in sealed box)
Opened and physically activated phone on 8/20 (I wanted to test some things on the SE3, so I opened it)

The warranty expiration date on that phone is 8/19/2024
So it looks like the warranty was still based on the physical
phone activation date at that time. It was a ST phone, but I did
activate that one on the TF network rather than ST, so I suppose
that could possibly cause a difference also, but not sure.
Hmm, I suppose there's also a slight possibility that activating it
on any sister network could account for the issue. Like maybe if the
ST phone is activated on TF, that database doesn't have the purchase
date from ST and so the Apple warranty defaults to the setup date. I dunno
… I suppose it could be a number of possible variables, but limited data
so far. Most all of my previous phones were either TW or ST phones
but activated on the TF network.

Ugh, that sounds like a mess. I hate to say it, but I don't think that accepting a refund on just the phones was a good move, as there were other ways to get them working or could probably have been sold pretty easily for $100 locally to people just wanting a Wi-Fi device and don't know of the deal. However, I'd definitely call back for the manager until you get them. And make sure you keep track of times you were there and names of who you talk to whenever possible. I usually like to start any conversations with "Hi, what's your name?". That lets them know that you're keeping track, which can sometimes make them more inclined to help, as they know you'll probably be going up the chain. And it also keeps it from being confrontational instead of angrily asking for their name after not getting what you want, when they might lie or hang up.

Why would return phone for $50 and lose money? can sell it for parts for more than that. You need speak with store manager to get full refund since phones won't activate and they didn't give you the service.

Why would your return the phones ? The phone alone is worth at minimum 100 each. How did you try to activate it?

Mine worked two ways.

1. Activated at home by calling the number and imputing my Imei.

2. Phone was already activated in store.

How about going back to Walmart and purchase 2 more phones, and activate them with the service cards or plans you already paid for? Make sure not to leave Walmart without activation. Or activate them at home as others in this thread have suggested.

Bought 1 phone with $35 plan in-store Walmart for $101 after taxes (IL 60645)
Came how and tried to activate it the next day and it asks for 15-digit SIM PIN on the card.
All I have is the SIM card with the actual SIM card that came in the envelope on the back of the Iphone box, Walmart din't give me the Straight Talk packet that that PIN I believe is on. I didn't ask for it because I assumed the plan is linked to the phone after buying it in store.

How do I activate my phone/get this PIN??

Your phone is already activated. This happened to me on my 6th and 7th phone. I was confused. Put the sim in the phone and it will work.

The premium wireless employee said he couldn't activate the phones. He didn't know any way to do it in warp beyond what he did originally.

Because I was flustered and just trying to buy working phones. The lady didn't tell me she was refunding just the phone until the first one was done.

I tried phone and online activation. Neither one worked. I spoke with a straight talk employee and they said they had no plan associated with my phone.

I think the premium wireless guy did something wrong and didn't know how to fix it. He had more phones but I'm concerned about buying them from him.
