Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

I went today and was able to get this deal at my local Walmart - OSL guy was there and I had no issues. My payment was 49.99 + 35 for the plan plus tax.

Question - It was not activated at the store - he just told me how to activate it and the phone has the "activation pouch" on it that has instructions. Does that matter? I did pay $35 though, so do I still have to cancel the plan?
At this time, I plan to just give the phone to my young daughter who will only be using the phone on wireless - she does not need any data plan. Would I still need to activate it or do anything else?

Was it locked or unlocked? The SE? Why do at Apple store?
The SE was still locked (had it about 3 days). I did it at the apple store, as the iphones are unlocked when you get it directly from apple.

If done properly by the rep then it is already activated. You can call the activation number, enter the IMEI and it should come back with 'this phone is already activated. You can also log in with your email and forgot password to check. You should see your plan and the counting down of days. Plan will cancel after 30 days

Straight Talk is such garbage. Will only "activate" phones through OSL reps. Buy through OSL rep, they don't activate it, ST wants a plan pin which isn't anywhere to be found on the receipt. Call them and ask about it, have to drive a hour there so they can figure it out, can't come today though because it's Black Friday. What a horribly run company.

If you have the WARP order number they should be able to look it up and provide it. On the page printout it is the last 15 digits (out of 25 total).

Would that be on the sales receipt? That's all I was given.

No it was on a bigger 8x11 paper. Did you give them an email? You may have to revisit the store.
You can try going through the phone prompts at the activation number to get to a rep who may or may not be able to help.

Yeah gave them the email, never received anything, it was in their system though because it wouldn't let me create an account using that email.

Try logging in with the email and "forgot password" as hodaddy mentioned. See if it shows a phone number or plan for your phone. Also, have you tried popping the SIM in and test the phone? That should be all that's needed if I they entered it right.

I ended up just getting it directly from StraightTalk for $150 total (plan + iPhone SE + tax). I think still a good deal. Walmart in-store shopping isn't great even during non-peak season, it sounds like a mess to deal with them now during BF.

Apple may release a SE 4 in 2024 and we might see other deals from other companies over Christmas holidays too?

Tried both. I get a email to reset password but it offers no info than just that. Put the sim in and turned on the phone. Stuck on SOS.

Did you click the link to reset the password? It should let you create one. Then log into the site.
