Probably since you added it to your account at a rapid pace, it triggers a block. All you need to do is call apple ask for post sales department then ask them to check if you have purchasing block in the system, then they will tell you yes, after that ask them to submit an unblock request to their "back office support team", they fixed it in about a day.

Generally training does not teach the front-end rep about purchasing blocks on accounts but their back end team will know how to lift purchasing blocks - assuming your GCs are legit.

Went to buy the MacBook, absolutely could not get it to work by issuing from our account balance. Spent countless time on the phone with customer service, who couldn't give a good reason why it didn't work and couldn't give us a solution. Ended up having to pay cash for the MacBook because we were in a time crunch and had already spent like two weeks trying to fix this gift card issue, and now I just have a huge apple balance that I don't know how we're going to use.

Same, this is just not worth the hassle of redemption while purchasing at Apple. Even at 20% off, I would think twice before getting Apple GCs.

Sorry to hear that... Similarly, I collected gift cards from promos and also wasn't able to use my account balance to buy a $499 Mac mini. Called the customer care, they transferred me to a "specialist", and she was able to "release" the balance in about 5 minutes. it was annoying for sure, but it hasn't happened again since.

Added slowly over the course of about two weeks. Confirmed with multiple reps that the account was not blocked. We called probably ten different times. They just kept saying they weren't sure why we couldn't apply the funds to a purchase and they were sorry but there's nothing they could do about it. Monthly iCloud storage and other charges deduct from the balance without issue. Maybe just bad luck but it ended up being an expensive risk for me that didn't work out.

Same thing happened to me. Worked for subs but couldn't buy anything physical with the balance. Had to ask for post sales team to remove purchasing block. Front end reps had no idea why I couldn't place orders.

Thanks Op. was thinking between this and the Target deal, went with this deal. Mainly use it for monthly cloud storage purchase, so will buy more if a better deal comes up.

I've experienced issues with this with Google and apple. The solution is the same. Request a specialist who can override the system. They'll tell you it's not possible. Be polite and insistent. You're not taking no for an answer. Their system. Their problem. They'll get it fix.

Up to your rewards balance on Discover. This deal requires you to buy the gift cards with your Discover rewards balance.

I had similar issues last year when I was trying to buy a (price matched) Apple Watch from their online store (had to call for the price match). I couldn't get the Apple balance to work. They were clueless. Had to get it escalated and finally figured out that you have to add your Apple account to your wallet app on your iPhone (or other Apple device). Once I did that it worked flawlessly and have since purchased a few other things with my Apple account balance (including an expensive MacBook where I maxed out the 2k account balance limit).
