Nice screen, but that integrated GPU is only about GTX 1050 Ti performance:
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Mob...844.0.html

If you want it for gaming, just get one of the $450-$550 RTX 3050 and better laptops.

If you don't want it for gaming, then get the Asus Vivobook if you have $750 burning a hole in your pocket: https://slickdeals.net/f/17036596

Any benefit to Wifi 6E over 6? Otherwise you can save another $20.

It's "the fastest iGPU on the market": https://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD...539.0.html
But that's kinda like "the fastest 70-year-old sprinter". If you're serious about gaming, get a discrete GPU. This should play games just fine though.

The M2 "integrated" graphics are practically discrete graphics and actually put this chip to shame. See below.

Full mobile GPU ranking (the best site for real-world comparison, as far as I know):

This laptop is the first 7840u with 14" and VRR Oled below $1000 that I have seen so far. But I'm pretty sure more brands/models will follow later if you are patient for a few months for the prices to drop further.

This needs more Ram, as that igpu doesn't have dedicated memory and would need to deduct memory from that same 16gb pool when playing games. No option to configure the ram to 32gb either as far as I know.

Wow, first time seeing a thin and light with 7840u under $1000.

Too bad it's not at least 15".

How well does integer upscaling work these days?
Can't play anything demanding at the native res but if the upscaling works well...
I'd prefer something like this over a Legion Go for gaming if the performance was compareable.

Edit: The 1200p version with larger battery is only $629. Very tempted. Have a ASUS M16 that I run on a 65watt USBC charger when travelling but I'm pretty sure the battery is going to get annihilated by the constant charge/discharge. Maybe that's OK and I just replace the battery when its on the fritz.

Looks like the 7840U config should come with a 68wh 4 cell battery. I haven't seen a battery life test of this exact config, but battery life should be good based on this battery capacity and other tests of 7840U.

Claims of low battery life seem to be referencing the 51wh and/or Intel configs.

It will allow you to select that config and shows the price, but there is a message stating that the 7840U config requires the OLED panel, so you can't actually add the 7840U + WUXGA to your cart. This is also a good deal on the 7540U config (if you want to save money/select the WUXGA panel), but I think most people looking at this deal are probably interested in the significantly better iGPU of the 7840U or the OLED panel.
