This goes back to the question where the specs say this TV doesn't support it but would it send to the speaker system through the eArc?
Yes, it supports audio passthrough of Dolby Atmos over Dolby Digital Plus + Dolby MAT thanks to eARC.

This seems nuts to me.

Folks want to buy 85" televisions and then complain that the (almost universally not-very-good regardless of brand) speakers inside the television won't do Atmos.

Shoot, even if the set did pass Atmos to the internal speakers, it wouldn't sound anything close to Atmos.

But, like almost all sets these days, it passes Atmos through eARC, so your separate audio system (that almost anyone almost always makes sure accompanies any $1000ish set) can play Atmos just fine...

WTF people complaining about Atmos?

You really think built in speakers advertising Atmos is good? LOLLLLLLLLLLL

thats like when they advertise it on phones and other devices.

such a freaking gimmick that clearly many are falling for.

You need a true atmos receiver and properly positioned speakers in a room to experience REAL atmos. Anything else is just fooling you

Yes I bought the 86" LG Costco deal last November and paired it with this same sound bar deal from last year plus wireless rear speakers and it's great.

Maybe the deal will pop up again this month.

Anyone have thoughts about this versus the Samsung 85" CU7000 here? https://slickdeals.net/f/17028745-samsung-85-cu7000-series-4k-uhd-smart-tv-best-buy-899-99. The Samsung will be $100 cheaper, so just $800 with split payment with chase cash back…appreciate any thoughts. Thanks TV experts!

My gf has an 86" tv, it is pretty freaking awesome. I will say that if you are buying this and wall mounting, know what you are doing and hit studs and though I am a cheap mofo, maybe don't cheap out on the wall mount for this. I've been thinking about buying one for a living room redo and at this price I might; last time I was at Sam's Club they had the Samsung CU8000 85" marked down to $900 (it was in-store and maybe through Oct only, I don't know) but I missed going back for it.

I got the $750 85" Hisense Best Buy deal a few weeks ago and went with the 5 year warranty for an extra $160. I'm wondering if A) it's THAT much better of a TV because I'm happy with the Hisense for my needs and B) if there's any way to get a 5 year warranty on it. I've heard of horror stories about both LG and Hisense so I want to make sure I'm going to have whichever one I end up with for at least 5 years.

I don't know their weight differences off hand but me and a buddy of mine mounted an 85" Hisense last week and the $42 mount I got on Amazon has proven more than capable. I've got a few other mounts from the same brand and they've all been decent quality.

FWIW, I've got a Sanus mount for a 75" TV upstairs and, while I admittedly do like it better, I would absolutely have gotten the linked mount and been perfectly happy had I not gotten the Sanus for $50 a few Black Fridays ago.

This is good to know! What I meant by Atmos was compatible with my Atmos system. Didn't realize the eARC would do it.
