Had a vortex for almost 2 years. After about 9 months we noticed the non-stick coating coming off of the cooking tray. I contacted Vortex and they sent a complete replacement despite the rest of the device working perfectly. About 8 months later the coating again started coming off the tray.

We always washed the tray by hand and never used the dishwasher. When it came time to replace that, we chose a different manufacturer.

Got the original 6 quart version for $40 at target 3 years ago, still works amazingly. Non stick only came off where the tray hits the basket since my rubber bumbers came off. I'd say this is a good deal considering inflation.

Always stick with durable ceramic coating which should last at least 5 years or lifetime stainless steel. None of my telfon coating last over a 2 years, end up toss them in the trash.vomit

The ninja AF series are ceramic coating basket air fryers, lots of review say it has no toxic plastic smell.

The air fry stainless steel ovens from Ninja DT / SP series and Instant Pot Vortex pro are pretty good. I have two massive DT201 for 2 years, got it for $120. Pizza and Chicken turns out perfect, you need to vent out the smoke if cook over 375F.

The small size SP is usually $60, XL DT $120-180

So would you say this is a pass? I don't fry often at all. But it seemed like a good deal.

A tray in the bottom doesn't compare to a removable basket air fryer, and wattage is everything. The Emerald Air Fryer 1800 5.2L will be $47.99 on Early Access 11/8 12 Noon, Black Friday at Wally World Online, and you'll be happier if you wait and buy that one instead. I compare products and features and I've done my research on this one!
