Wow. A spare battery costs just as much as another scooter but if I wanted to go far (and return) I don't want to carry a spare scooter strapped to my back. I'd rather pay twice as much for a scooter that can go twice as far.

ipx4 is not the greatest but not terrible at all for something that can get you about 15 miles. with all scooters the listed range is theoretical and not practical in the slightest, and for this particular model, there is very little information about it. i fear you'll be getting what you pay for with this one, but if you don't mind the gamble, could be cool.

I need to see a tear down of the battery to see what brand battery. I only buy panasonic LG Sony or Samsung litium ion. Counldn' find reviews of riding in the rain. Just not enough reviews to make a decision.

I've got the Blackhawk as well and it only charges to 3/4 on the battery meter. i bought the 3 year warranty thru walmart so plan on using that before the time is up. was looking for a different scooter with great suspension under 500, but waiting to purchase thru amazon or walmart so i can get the warranty. i dont trust the batteries on these scooters for 3+ years

I have the Hover 1 version (3 of them!). Great scooter for the prior slickdeal prices I paid. This looks like an upgrade given the slightly higher speeds, slightly more range, and the e-brake. Not a bad price - hits a sweet spot. But my most expensive was $250, and I scored a crazy Target Clearance deal for < $200.

looks pretty easy to open and replace the batteries. They said its got 3p blade terminals. thats pretty basic. many batteries will work if you know how to wire up 3 wires. in for one. gonna build some battery packs. hit me up if you want to see what i do. getting this thing cause i travel a lot and love having a scooter with me. this removable battery makes it easy to fly. i downgrade the battery and pack it in my carry on.
