Unfortunately, it seems that if it's under $400, no backlit keyboard. That's often the case with ones above $400, too. The op did a good job by actually mentioning this; most deal posts don't. I won't buy without backlit, either.

I also had 5% off from Dell on my Chase Freedom, which will give me a $20 credit after the purchase. Full amount came to $402 after tax - $382 after Chase credit.

stupid hinge design
I agree. I still got the Inspiron 3535 which has the same hinge design for $330. It raises the laptop a little bit to allow more airflow but it probably will go bad faster than a normal hinge design. Otherwise, it does not "feel" bad or abnormal.

I agree that for this price the specs look good but shouldn't there be at least 1 Thunderbolt (USB-C with lightning pic) port to connect to a dock? I mean I thought all new laptops (even the mid-range like this one) are supposed to have at least 1 (if not 2) Thunderbolt port !!!

I am seeing a cashback site that is now giving 11% cash back for Dell. So may even get additional $40.70 discount.

My American express card also has $40 discount for purchase $200+ at Dell.

If all of these discounts stack, it's possible this laptop can only cost $289 + tax.

Great deal!
which site ?

The price in cart shows as $411.xx before taxes and the 10% unique coupon. Is that what you got and then got it down more using the 10%?

Damm it sucks as the 2 Amex cards have 2 different offers 1=$599 spend get $120 back and the 2=$200 spend get $40 back. I could have split this on the 2 cards and gotten $80 back if they both had the $200 spend get $40 back lol. I combined this offer 2 years back doing something similar but was buying 2 laptops so it worked out and would now as well but dont need 2 today.

Yes, exactly. I used the 10% coupon to bring the price down.

SAME!! People on here sound like old angry men: "I will NOT buy a laptop without a backlit keyboard!!!!!!!" It's funny as hell honestly. You'd think backlit keyboards are the CPU or something the way these people talk about them LOL
I don't think it's the old men needing backlighting, probably spoiled young flakes 😁

Dell Inspiron is the low end of consumer laptop in term of specs. Dell want you to spend more on the Latitude series. If you get everything from Inspiron, who would buy the more expensive Latitude?
Latitude costs about twice as much as an Inspiron for similar spec, but with additional features such as better battery, backlit keyboard and Thunderbolt.
It explains why this Inspiron does not have Thunderbolt.

My AMEX card has the $120 off $599 or more so I was looking at the "New Inspiron 15" which looks like it has a USB-C port, 13th gen, little better RAM, 1 TB etc. Price and specs for that are below. Do you think that it's worth the price difference ($100) from the Inspiron 15 in this deal?
