Sorry, once I connected to WiFi, Bam, it got locked. Frown But up until then it was using my other SIM's data n was working.. I was just testing to see how international numbers work so I can use it abroad when I travel..
Did your india sim have data? I would assume any data connection whether wifi or cellular would lock the phone to Mint?

If someone is an existing mint customer (have a sim that's over a year old or have unlocked mint phones before) can give this a try, reset with that sim in the phone. Here is the thread on xda for reference where someone is able to unlock the bootloader

Question

I have a Mint sim card that use in my Surface Pro X just for internet, If I get this phone and put my tmobile sim card in the Pixel and the new Mint sim card I use for my Surface Pro X, so I get the phone for free and still have internet in my surface, would that work?

Reading that and a previous poster, one can try the following.

Turn on phone. Do NOT connect to Wi-Fi or any networks.
Put in old non mint sim to see if it gives you the locked message.
if no message, then goto developer options and try to unlock the bootloader.
Restart phone to confirm bootloader is unlocked.
Then connect to wifi and see if it stays unlocked.

Heck if the bootloader unlocks, flash a 3rd party room and then connect to data.

I actually tried that at the beginning with a tmobile sim, it actually says it's connected to the tmobile sim, but a moment later, it locks the phone and prompts mibt sim, that's because the data connection wifi or cellular will lock the phone.

guys, i figured out how to at least temporarily sim unlock (only tested with tmobile sim), it survives reboots, have not try connecting to wifi yet, it probably won't survice a master reset

here's how you do it:

take out any sim and master reset erase everything

choose offline setup upon reboot, go into settings/apps/show system apps and search for lock (device lock), and carrier* and device setup
i'm not sure which ones are required, fill free to try

basically for all those apps, disable/stop apps/restrict usage/restrict background data.

then insert the tmobile sim and you should be able to use it with both voice and data

you can also try to download the app in goole store tmobile app unlock (pixel) and run it, it says your device is permenantly unlocked. though you still can't unlock boot loader

at least is progress and phone is usable with at least tmobile sim

nope, also connecting to wifi will put the sim restriction back.

so it's unlocked as long as you don't use wifi or factory reset

I don't understand the love for dark mode. It's hard to see. I sometimes think my eyes must work differently than everyone elses. When I designed websites over 20 years ago it wasn't a good idea to make dark websites for legibility reasons... now, it seems like that notion has changed.
I dark mode pretty much everything except Maps app.
Light move might looks good but too straining for your eyes over long period

You must never check your phone in a pitch black room in the middle of the night. Smilie As someone who does that, dark mode is a life saver. A mostly white screen in that situation is blinding, like getting a flashlight shined in your eyes.

Any recommendations on a good and cheap case for this phone? I bought a cheapo clear case for regular pixel 7 and accidentally dropped phone on concrete once on screen size and now it has a nice crack on the screen.
