Just a small warning, last two games I've bought "New" from Gamestop were not new, the cases had been already been opened and there were price stickers directly on the case (no cellophane wrap). If you don't care about that, that's fine, but I feel like it's shady to sell opened products as "new"
I beat tales of arise a few months ago. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I will say it's not $5 because its sucks or it's shovelware. You see that a lot with Gamestop, where the majority of their Under $5 games are sports titles or junk, but I think Tales of Arise just had a very wide release, so it sits on the shelves.
It's just kind of a perfectly servicable RPG. It's not deep or interesting, but it's not bland. It's not heavy on dialog, if you're not a completionist you can blast through it pretty quickly.
I think what I enjoyed about it most was the combat which is new Final Fantasy style button masher action with character switching and spellcasting on the fly. It's very combo and element oriented. It was "fun", but I left disappointed because I didn't find it very compelling or deep.
Also it has a fishing minigame, 10/10.
That's good to know. This happens a lot there. I wonder why there's been no lawsuits on GameStop because of that. Strange

as an aside i bought tales of arise 4 different times...ive forgotten ive bought it 4 times because it stays in the gonna play it one day pile. i just saw some announced dlc for this game too
The DLC made me buy the game. Especially for $5. I haven't played a JRPG since Valkyria Chronicles on PS3
Bought 2 of something because of their insane $79 requirement for free shipping. The 2 came from the same store (in the same box) and neither had cover art. So somehow GS manages to gut multiple copies in some cases.
GS employees, at least the ones who still work there and drink the Kool-Aid, will cite that they did do placeholder titles instead of gutting new copies and that caused more issues because they would run out of stock and not pull the placeholder, and make people angry.
The easy response to this is... if you sell the last copy, pull the placeholder, or even better, don't keep store inventory so low that you run out of AAA titles so frequently. It is very common now that stores get single digits of major releases and run out for days or weeks.

I currently have this issue and Gamestop isn't resolving it because they say my order on their website isn't processed fully. It has been a month. I can still select cancel on the order even though I have the games. Should I go ahead and cancel and wait for them to reach out to me?
