But yes, i will agree there are jaded brand fanbois that still say they prefer Sony or LG.
And hell I have a C8 so i was one of them, though apparently more open to other brands jumping ahead with better displays. I wish LG would give up WOLED and start competing with Samsung at the QD level.
The issues I have with Samsung is the picture might be vibrant but it just doesn't look as natural as Sony & LG.
Other is I know two that have already had burn in/ retention issues and both displays were calibrated!
If you stream & prefer DV HDR, looks like the C3 may be a better choice.

WOLED only achieves the bright end of the dynamic range by punching up brightness with a white subpixel that in turn washes out the color. Period. QD gets to the same brightness with no washout. It inherently can achieve more accurate color across the entire range of brightness. Thats just a fact. Whether thats important to every person? Thats subjective. I mean 80% of the population only considers screen size of a TV to be important and goes and buy a $500 83" LCD tv at walmart and think it looks pretty.
You don't notice where a QD shines till you watch dark scenes with a campfire, elaborate gold clothing, etc. Any other scene that is otherwise uniformly lit will look the same on WOLED or QDOLED. I think alot of people are comparing TVs with these bland scenes and missing out what got fixed by removing the white subpixel. But yeah, if asked straight out what is a better panel, QDOLED beats WOLED. Does Samsung beat LG? Well, no, because Samsung warranty and customer service sucks. That goes back to order of importance to each individual. My C8 is still going strong so i want but have not been able to justify the 77" S95C yet, even though price can be brought down to $3200 right now.

It's great you know how it technically works, what you're leaving out is how it puts it into practice(processes) with content.
You hear this all the time with comparisons between LG vs Sony, it applies to Samsung also.
Both displays calibrated, Samsung may produce a more dynamic picture but it doesn't look as natural(real) as Sony/LG does IMO.
If you calibrate the displays the difference is minimal, they are all good.
I did enjoy visits to Bestbuy to see the S95C in person this year, but i noticed it went from playing the same video feed as the rest of the OLEDs on the wall to it's own demo loop after a while. Which was suspicious to me. When it was on the same feed, the scene from Cinderella 2021 with the gold dressed "Fabulous Godmother" were bluntly striking how much better the bright gold colors were rendered on the QD panel vs the rest of the OLEDs. Thats were you most notice the difference. (and the reason bestbuy stopped sharing feeds?)
That any maybe playing halo on one QD splurge purchase i've made so far with a AW3423DWF.
QD is objectively better, because it maintains color accuracy across brightness, WOLED does not. Calibration can't fix that. Calibration can't fix the WOLED can't render scenes with fire and gold color like QD can.
Reviewers that correctly understood they needed to change their review process to now punish WOLED for this design defect (now that it's not common to all OLEDs) have hailed QD as better looking.
As far as this being subjective about looks? How long has the meme been about going to your friends house and disabling motion interpolation only for them to be upset because they say it looks better with it on?
I mean, i understand i can't argue that someone believes the TVs look the same. Of that they may even admit they see the difference but don't value it as highly as I do. But objectively, it's a better panel in the sense it can produce more true colors over the entire dynamic brightness range.

How it works on paper doesn't necessarily tell you how it does in practice.
The processing play's significant role and its not the same as calibration.
I agree, Sonys processing produces a better natural/true picture.
