I personally love LG and Dolby vision, but I refuse to pay more for inferior tech, so I'll try this Samsung out. A lot of people say hdr 10 and dv are not distinguishable.

Also worth notating, this is a gen 2 qd oled panel. Same as the s95c meaning this panel easily outperforms the LG C2 in brightness and colors. I guess the price is lower cause they don't have to pay DV licensing fees.. I wonder how much those are per set?

UPDATE: I CANCELLED MY ORDER!
I went to bestbuy again for the third time in the past 3 days and decided to go with the LG G3. Color accuracy is just better with LG IMO and I don't want to spend hours tinkering and calibrating the Samsung display which may be better, but just isn't dialed in out of the box. Also, I don't think I can live w/out DV... I saw a few comparisons and we are talking about 12 bit color depth vs 10 bit. Their is a difference.

Samsung software is atrocious but this is actually Consumer Reports currently highest rated tv out of over 370 tested. Scored a 88.

This has been this price for weeks, but good reminder to refresh the cart for lower price.

" A lot of people say hdr 10 and dv are not distinguishable." = Even the true audiophiles who repeatedly say it all the time. There isn't a single admired expert review that prefers DV, or that it should be any deal breaker.

Dumb of Samsung to lose so many potential sales? Yeah. At the same time, it's great for consumers with lower prices.
The audiophiles probably don't have much to say on this topic, but I'm sure the videophiles would agree 😜

This or Sony 85" x95k for $2579? Have it scheduled for delivery, wondering if I should cancel. Sit about 8' away in moderately brought room.
IMO, Oled is still the way to go. Spent an hour last night in the BB comparing… for viewing angles and overall clarity the oleds always beat the mini-leds and this includes the Sonys. Seems mini-led mostly solves dimming issues but not much else. Had not seen them side by side before. IMO the only Oled worth a real price premium is the A95L which isn't offered larger than 77 right now. To me it was not worth the almost 3x price of that.

Brightness of the store (compared in Costco and Sam's as well) didn't change any of this.

If you need the extra size then maybe the x95k is better at that price. IMO, if you're going to spend 2,700 you should be getting the best picture quality.

I bought this but delayed delivery.

Haha. In the same exact position! I have the Sony sitting in my living room in the box still. S90C arrives Monday.

I'll make a decision then. Can't go wrong with either truly. At 8' away though, 85" might be tad too big.

Is 8' the furthest distance or average? Makes a difference. If 8 is the absolute max distance, then go with S90C. Again though, no wrong choice, other than saving $700

I don't have to worry about the OS or Samsung TV plus with mine. Never connected TV to internet. I run everything through my Apple TV. Also don't have to worry with any firmware issues in future..
So you're just better off never updating the TV firmware with Samsung? lol. Makes me want to get a G3.

Bought the 77" when it was at $2159 and got the run around on a price match from their chat support. Instead they ended up giving me a $100 coupon for a future purchase.
Full details from previous thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/16971328-samsung-edu-epp-aaa-samsung-s90c-series-oled-tv-65-1440-55-1170-more-free-shipping?p=166643344#post166643344

I've no plans to purchase anything else directly from them, so I'm looking to give someone else the code, as long as they are willing to split the savings. Including a screenshot showing that the coupon does stack with the discount programs.

Samsung's account/login process seems to be just broken 24/7. No matter what I do it just gives a wacky nonsense 500 server error and it isn't possible to log in or view the cart. Garbage website.

Even after playing browser roulette, the price just shows as $2499 and tells me constantly that "the coupon was removed because you got a better deal" or something along those lines. Back again to broken garbage website.

Should be YMMV since getting the $25 first time buyer discount and the Lucky day $100 additional off varies user to user.

Do I add to cart, refresh for the lucky price, and then chat?

Or do I chat, get it added to cart, refresh for lucky price, and then proceed?

EDIT: Well, I was able to add it via PC for $1999. But then when I tried to add it from mobile, it kept selecting S95C when I clicked on 77". Asked for help to get it in my cart.

They asked if I wanted to add any add-ons, I played dumb and asked what the add-ons were, and what the warranty is. Chat rep explained 1 year warranty, but they can give me 2 years Samsung Care+ for free.

Now I guess I just keep refreshing until I get that magic $1899?
