I have the original blu ray and the 4k steel book version. The blu ray definitely goes deeper. More so than I feel my dual hsu vtf-3 mk5 can accurately reproduce. I am also Dirac live Calibrated.

I do, however prefer the 4k version due to the Atmos and more tamed lower frequency. The first battle scene on the beach really is an amazing atmos scene.

edit: on 4k, anything under 30hz was cut off.

It's a real shame. Highly enjoyable movie in general. Lots was done right on the 4K, but the completely neutered bass makes the 1080 my go to for this movie.

Fellow bassheads, 1st or 2nd floor is best for home theater?
1st floor on concrete slab seems like a better choice especially for bass frequencies

Won't really matter on those facts alone.
Does either enable you to:
- Have better multi sub placement & treatment?
- Avoid annoying anyone (neighbors, spouse, kids, etc)?
- Relax & enjoy more easily?

Those would be my determining factors. If you're worried about resonance transfer or something, I'd say a) that paaaales in comparison to doing things like using multi sub to tame modes or just having enough power & displacement in the first place, and b) secondly you can use treatments like an isosub or something if your system really is so pristine that the subfloor material is noticeable

Thanks. Another issue i read about 2nd floor home theater is the 'sag' from the floor due to all the weight of gear
Not sure how true this is, seems the floor should be able to hold couple of subs, speakers, seats and people in them no problem

Remember, almost no speaker weighs as much as a child. Even something huge like a Rythmik f18 is just 140lbs. Unless you'd be nervous to have 5-6 grown adults in the room (much less heavy furniture like a bed or a sofa or a table too), I wouldn't worry about audio equipment.
