people laugh on why i keep buying dvd's and bluray but truth is you should never solely rely on streaming!
same reason you should have at least 2 tv antennas around the house! if your internet is down for a week you need to learn how to survive and not turn into a southpark episode searching for "internets".

I've noticed that Sony seems to have gradually raised their minimum sale prices over the years to be as bad or worse than Disney, which is frustrating.

Why bother with buying physical copies if all you want is digital? Digital prices are often cheaper than a lot of these, and it's easier than redeeming a bunch of codes on paper.

um he said right in your quoted text why. i do the same thing. Fleabay them off, and the movies end up being about free digitally a lot of times, or around $5-$10 net for new releases

It will eventually. Be patient. I no longer pay more than $10 for 4k blu rays, with a few exception for rare small studio release where most likely it wont get discounted as much.
