Gold and silver bars are one of those things that constantly get posted here and the threads attract the strangest people
It's so true. Reading through these comments and it's impressive to think the majority are so odd as if it's from an 11-year-old or a bot.

happy for all the preppers who think this is a safe way to hold onto money lol
For some, it's a way to cash out worthless fiat dollars before everybody else realizes their fiat dollars are worthless.

If you want to invest in gold, I'd recommend using a fee-free ETF instead of buying physical metal.

If you buy this, you also need a fire-proof safe and that's going to set you back $$ you could have invested.
If you want gold buy gold. If you want paper buy paper. Two different things.

My prepper activities include buying alcohol, but then I never seem to be able to save it until the apocalypse.

FIY that the 5% chase rewards or cb is just up to $1500 purchase for this quarter 4.
So the max you get is $75 for each chase card.
Is 5% CB for chase Sapphire Reserve cards too? So chase has 5% CB for which category…Costco, online, or gold? Just fyi for those who don't have chase, with BOA you can select each month for online category making it 3% versus 2% with Citi-Costco

anyone know if this qualifies for executive cash back? Glad to see that sales tax isn't levied on this purchase...

Definitely a great way to manufacture spending on a CC and/or leverage cashback, especially if you have a way to get 5% back via various cards
