So make sure you use it heavily before the Jan 25th 2024 return window. That way, you can get an exchange/refund if you get one of the bad motors.
I was hoping Dewalt would setup a recall. Instead, they're sending new motors to people that have the issue. However, it's a lengthy instalation and you'll spend some time trying to get the unit running true afterwards.
I just finally walked away from the 735 and went through a gauntlet of planers before I finally settled on one I sorta like... the WEN PL1326 (which I think I must've got lucky with, because a WEN dhouldnt be this good lol.) and while it's as good, and in some ways better than the 735, none of the benchtop planers I tried had dust extraction as good as the Dewalt.
I wish I could go back in time 8 years or so, and buy a couple of the 735's. Their old motors were so great.
