EDIT for s23 ultra, it is 524.99 after $500 trade in (s21 ultra) instead of $899-500 = 399, so EPP trade in value is buggy AF

After seeing the post, I tried to recreate the order, but this time using the accessepp promo code.
It went through and the final price was about 130 dollars cheaper. Both orders had education discount applied.
The final price (after CA tax and trade in) was $830 a week ago, and $699 with the promo.
The cash back site was also higher (5 vs. 11%). Thanks op!

Thing is, there is a rather big chunk of glass missing out of the middle.
Not sure if the underlying display has any damage, but there aren't any obvious black spots or lines.
He has been using it for over a month at this point as the digitizer still works despite the damage.
Should I worry about the trade-in being rejected?
