Regardless if you decide to buy this particular unit or not, one KEY specification you should locate prior to purchase with any home "A/V type" Receiver:

Bolded effect added by me for emphasis -

Power output (All channels):

200 W/Ch (6 ohms, 1 kHz, 10% THD,1-ch driven)

90 W/Ch (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 0.08% THD,
2-ch driven, FTC)

Hope this information is insightful / helpful.

God damnit. I got burned hard by a bad HDMI board from Onkyo years ago. It was a giant recall that the old heads in here will remember. But for this price I'm thinking of rolling the dice again. SMH I'll never learn.

Slim to none.

This is the cheapest I've ever seen this receiver.

This seems like a great receiver, but I know so little about them. I just want my ps5 to look and sound great through it when playing and watching movies. Is this a great deal?

I got a used version without a remote on eBay and it has been excellent. I've used Yamaha and Pioneer Elite receivers and this one is quick to switch setting, has a decent app, and sounds quite clean.

The things I don't like (but don't know any receiver that does in this price range) is eq on the 2nd zone and the ability for it to accept cec commands from multiple hdmi devices at the same time. I used to be able to tell my fire cube to turn down the volume while I used my AppleTV to stream.

This is a great deal and will serve you many years. If I didn't love my onkyo 626 I'd get this

I'm wondering the same. I think its a big step up for me from my NR575 with my PS5.

This is a great price. I think I paid $400 and it was worth every penny. I have mine set up with 7.1 and it's pretty amazing with movies and gaming (especially ps5).

Request advice- I have Monoprice 5.1.2 speakers. Manual says, max speaker input of 100W.

Will this receiver with 200W per channel output work with speakers I have?

Thank you.

Yes it is a good deal. I bought an Onkyo 5.2 for like $450 a couple years ago.

Can you explain what that means. I am just used to seeing one figure. For instance I think my current receiver is like 145w per channel. Can't tell if the 200w is a real number or it's really 90w...

This unit outputs 90w in 2 channel mode so running 5.1.2 you are likely around 50-60w. Having more amplifier power is never a real world issue. While both ratings use wattage as units they don't mean the same thing since one is wattage output and the other is wattage input.
