Power: Is completely adequate and far more than what most people would ever need. I have owned many receivers, including Pioneer Elite models that could sustain well over 100 watts per channel all channels driven at less than 1% THD. This spec simply doesn't matter much for anyone who is using a subwoofer as the majority of power used for music and movies reproduction is in lower bass frequencies. This is why brands like Monoprice and SVS make subwoofers with 500 or more watts of clean continuous power.
Auto EQ: Good for setting distances and relative levels but that's about it. I had to manually adjust the subwoofer level, disable the auto-EQ profile, and hand-tune my own EQ settings using REW and a measurement mic. The Auto EQ setting produced a very boomy subwoofer and hollow male/female vocals.
Other features: I use the Spotify feature sometimes, especially when I'm home alone and I want to listen to my music *LOUD*, but that's about it. CEC synchronized on/off seems to work off and on depending on the firmware update version. CEC is a hot mess so I don't know if it's the TV (Sony) or the receiver. Luckily, eARC seems to work well. The input/output assignments and configs are fairly flexible and about what you'd expect from a modern receiver.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this receiver considering the price. It's certainly more than enough for most people setting up a home theater system. Spend your money on a good subwoofer - it's going to make a huge difference.

The more efficient speakers are the LESS ACTUAL POWER THEY REQUIRE to reach high/er volumes.
So while this unit may have sufficient power for your speakers, in your space, it may be woefully underpowered in many other use cases (bigger rooms, less efficient speaker sets in use), etc.
To clarify I'm not against OR for this specific unit or any specific unit, I'm just trying to provide an informed groundwork for folks from which they are able to make more informed purchasing decisions relevant to home theater, speakers, receivers, amplifiers, etc.
Versus, just buy what has worked for someone else that is on a super sale or clearance or whatever, only to potentially be pretty confused when the result doesn't match the expectation or worse, the actual intended need.
So those specific specs are achieved through creative copywriting and marketing while the reality is, the receiver is NOT in fact as powerful as those specs are "suggesting" and the big, bolded specs the manufacturer is so proud of displaying is only for one or two channels of the FIVE or SEVEN or more channels on the receiver.
It's in the small type and that type is small for a reason, because if consumers knew and were educated on what they were actually getting vs what they THOUGHT they were getting, they may make a different purchasing decision.
