Do you know what any of that means? The XM5s support bitrate of 990kbps while Airpods Pro 2 support bitrate of 320kbps.
Pretty much no one is going to hear the difference between 990kbps and 320kbps. And you can't even compare bitrates across codecs, 320kbps AAC is not equivalent to 320kbps LDAC. In fact 320kbps AAC on iPhone is better than 320kbps LDAC on Android, see: https://www.soundguys.c
None of this matter anyways though, once again, very few people are going to hear the difference, especially on consumer-level earbuds like these.
What you should really be focusing on is the drivers and the audio processing, those will make the biggest difference.
sticking to AirPods, a reddit review:
I can't think of one way in which the XM5s are better than the Airpods Pro 2.
ANC: Worse (because the passive isolation is doing most of the work, not the ANC)
Transparency: Much worse
Price: Much more expensive
Sound quality: Both good
Comfort: Worse (for me)
Thuds when running: Much worse
Control system: Much worse (four taps to change volume!)
and he aint mentioning the service from Sony, referring to the other replies...

I've heard enough Sony firmware issues, and I had the same issue with my Sony left earbud. My BIG question here is we have no way to fix it?
Thanks.

Not to insert another variable, but the best sounding and fitting earbuds I've had in this range are the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3. Great sound and amazing fit while in the gym.
