I was just glad to see the regular Quaker Oats weren't recalled so I can make my hubby some oatmeal cookies!
That's what I have in my cupboard too, only for oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

There's a mennonite bakery where my Dad used to shop. They had the best 'Cowboy Cookies". I found the recipe online [swiss-pantry.com], so I just make them myself (1/4 of a recipe, but add 1 teaspoon of vanilla) and on parchment paper.
Tip: if using cheap butter, then refrigerate the cookies on the pan before baking. Aldi butter always spreads too much for me. I also use mini chocolate chips now too, more chocolate taste.

I dont know if this is true but
I seen some fb posts this year saying their cookies spread more than normal bc the butter brands were using more water in their product.

How many cookies does that recipe make? Wondering if I should cut it in half. Sounds like a lot

The entire recipe makes 4 dozen pretty good size cookies (4 inches across or so). I use a cookie scoop to make mine, so that they are all the same size.
1/4 recipe makes between 12 and 14 cookies for me.

Well, if you have a dozen extra. Just kidding, I'm always trolling for cookies. Nothing in the world is better than a good oatmeal cookie. I can't eat cookies anyway because of my heart condition but it's fun to pretend that I can.

That's more in line with my needs too. I'll cut it to a quarter. Thanks very much, sure sounds good

Wave jcdc

In Redesign, click on the dropdown arrow next to a user name and then select "Give Thanks". Another box will pop up if you want to leave a message with the rep. I've attached a couple screenshots below. Hope this helps Smilie

That may be true because at Thanksgiving, my cheese sauce and a yam dish had so much separation, even though everything was the same as I used before. I don't know what happened. Did anyone else have a problem with cheese sauce separating?
