Thanks for the info. For once it seems a good thing we have that 'not so common' store here. I just rechecked to make sure our store's (Hy-Vee) waffles are not included and they are not.

Hope no one gets sick from these waffles.

I agree. $3.49 is a great price on Total and even though Vons has CVS beat by 50 cents on Post Great Grains, it's still a very good price. On the last ad, CVS had Kellogg's for under $2. Vons is also a great place for cereal deals. I wish that somebody would put Wheaties on sale. Total tastes similar so I'm ok with that. There used to be a cereal called Team that was really good but I haven't seen it for a long time.

CVS has been pretty good with this ad. I did a really nice deal on a $20 Eucerin tub this morning. $3 after tax. I've got another deal tomorrow where it will be a mm after tax. And then there's the king of all deals but you have to live by a beauty store in order to do it.

I'm excited for the final episode of The Anonymous tonight. My two picks were Andy and Lilly. Lilly played very poorly in the last show so my final pick is Andy but I wouldn't be surprised if Christopher won. I'd give Nina the least chance of winning (because she's the best player and everybody knows it). Marcel may be able to sneak in there for the win. If that were to happen, it would be amazing since he's the worst player. Victoria is going home first followed by Nina.

So it all came down to the final face-off. Marcel got to pick the order and his selections were pure genius. Christopher went first and gave an obvious tell that he had a losing box. Andy went next and got the winning box. He tried to bluff but Nina picked up on it and took his box. Nina was the best player in the game and the whole point of Marcel putting her in front of him was so that he could take her box if she took someone else's but instead he took a fresh box and lost. He didn't understand the logic of his position. He's going to kick himself for a long time when somebody tells him how dumb he was. Congrats to Nina. She was the best player and deserved to win. Andy blew it by reacting to Christopher instead of doing his own thing. He played so well up until that point.

One summer when I was in college, I got a very good temporary job working in a General Mills factory to the south of Chicago. We were taken to the different parts of the cereal production line so we'd have a comprehensive sense of how the cereals were made, packaged and shipped. The one big tidbit I gained from this was the understanding that Wheaties and Total are the exact same wheat based flakes. The sole difference is that Total has a greater concentration of vitamins sprayed on it. The flakes, after cooking are sent into rotating drums where they are sprayed with vitamins. This is where they diverge. You might save money by buying Wheaties and taking a supplement. IIRC, Total comes in smaller boxes and has a higher price than the same amount of Wheaties. It's been a long time, so the production and ingredients may have changed, but I doubt it.

Thanks. My quest for Wheaties is over and I'll stock up on Total when CVS puts it on sale for $3.49. The regular price on Wheaties is around $7. Total is $10. I hope that people don't pay that much for it.

So CVS gave Karen the boot. Hopefully, the new CEO can get CVS back on track. I've been critical of CVS in the past but truth be told I'm a very loyal CVS customer. I have no desire to shop anywhere else. I'd like for CVS to go back to how things used to be before Karen took over.

So what changes would I like to see CVS make? I'd like for the in-store price to be the same as the online price. I don't know why companies have to punish customers who make the effort to go to their stores by charging them higher prices. It doesn't make any sense. I don't understand why somebody who does an in-store pick-up should get a lower price than I can by shopping in the store. It creates a lot of bad feelings. How is an in-store pick-up less work for CVS employees? It's actually more work when there are problems like with Axe and Arm and Hammer. The whole concept of charging in-store customers higher prices is just wrong.

There were some really bad calls in last night's game. The Dodgers runner was safe at home on the squeeze play. That wasn't a 3rd strike on the Yankees hitter. That was a fantastic throw to get the Yankees runner at home but I'm not sure that he was out. I'd like to see a replay. Two and maybe 3 bad calls in a World Series game is not acceptable.

fyi... if anyone goes to a veterinary practice owned by rarebreed veterinary partners, be careful.
last week, they shutdown the local practice without notifying anyone. no rx refills or anything, just locked the doors and walked away..
