Forewarning for any AceMagic computer, there is literally spyware packaged into the OS image that they're using. Don't believe me? Whoever buys this deal, open up the strangely preinstalled firefox and check your default search engine. It is straight up redirecting through some VERY recently registered domains and then reroutes you through a bing search. That was enough for me to see before I wiped it.

File permissions are also all sorts of farked up. Just flash your own drive and install from your own iso.

Yes but you should wipe and fresh install on any PC today. I never trust a pre-installed OS. Ever.

The Beelink S12 Pro is currently on sale for $151 and it comes with N100. Wouldn't that be a better choice?

What do folks use these things for? Tempted to buy one, but not sure what i'd do aside from maybe make it a media center PC or something similar.

If I didn't already have a Lenovo tiny, I would be researching this as a potential box to use for pfSense (DIY firewall / router). I can't tell at a quick glance if the Dual LAN are Intel or Realtek chips though: Intel NIC highly preferred for pfSense.

Looks to be Realtek nics unfortunately.. The Beelink EQ12 seems like a good pfSense / OPNsense option at a ~$200 price (2 Intel i225-v 2.5Gbe nics).

I bought the Beelink with the N100 for about $150 a few months back. I wanted it to keep as a mini gaming PC that I can play You Dont Know Jack games on via Steam. I can take it to anyones house and we can play any of the games. Just hook up to a TV and wifi and you are good to go. I use it with a hand held keyboard/trackpad to operate. Works great for my need.

I use mine as a HTPC that runs plex. I like these cause they're super low power. My gaming rig was using 5x the power on average. I get 15% less performance on the micro pc (my rig was old) but it only uses 10 watts of power, so in 4 years it will literally pay for itself, at the cost of a slight performance hit.

For $145, Does this have a legit version of windows 11 pro installed?

Yes this price is high tho. I'd wait util BF these should go to $130 or less. Regardless I wouldn't buy from ACE, I would look at Beelink or Minis first. None of them are really going to have BIOS support like an actual NUC however so think of them as disposable.

Ironic, Google "steals" and resells your homework and data and correlates all your metadata, and Apple scans your phones locally before encrypting to icloud. If you think that is a stretch wait until you start using Bard. It will scoop up everything. Maybe its a folly to avoid...

So they all suck, but there are ways to mitigate risk and by installing the OS FRESH you know there are no 3rd party changes to the image. Personally I don't use Windows anymore but for those who do, take the precaution so that only Microsoft is scooping up all your data.

For $6 probably. The real difference is the N100 has more GPU EU than the N95, but the N95 has higher MHz other than that they are the same. The N95 is probably a binned N100. I have seen a few use DDR5 in N100 that may help a bit and they are both single channel. But in gaming none of them are going to be a barnburner, but transcoding (plex, etc) will be similar as they both have one Gen 12 media engine. The good news is they have hardware decode for AV1.

I have both in harvester clusters and see no real execution difference.

So really go for the lowest cost here.

I bought the Beelink S12 Mini Pro for $159 a couple months ago and I was very happy with it. I have Plex Debrid, Homebridge, and Home Assistant running 24/7. I am looking for more things to do with it.
