I just saw this, but as of this writing, the trade-in value for a pixel 7 pro is only $250, which is pretty sad for their most recent flagship phone!

Yeah they better up their trade-in values. Typing this from my 6a I got last year for free with trade-in of 5a.

Google literally has more hardware issues and failures than anyone else. It isn't even close. I love Pixel phones, have owned many of them, and have been burned with hardware failures each time. There are reviews warning about overheating and so many other issues with these phones.

I got $280 trade in for pixel 7. If you would of sold it on swappa (assuming $326 sale price - $16 shipping - $9 seller fee - 3% paypal cut) would you make $10 more than google play store trade in but you loose time in dealing with low ballers. Clear choice for me to go down google store trade in route.

Pixel 8 is $150 off.
Trade in for Pixel 7 if I remember from Best Buy was $450 during release. Currently trade in is $280 at Google $1xx at Best Buy. So in conclusion trade-in is $170 less meaning overall this is $20 more still...
On top of that pre-order gave you free pixel buds... this gives you... nothing?
Overall absolute shit deal.

I switched from iPhone to Pixel last year after giving it a shot and it wasn't for me. I prefer the Pixel over anything else at the moment and always had a good experience with them. Not one single issue other than the annoying price increases lately.

They gave us $300 in trade in for our Pixel 5s during the first 2 weeks they were on sale.

I have ~$40 google store credit from Pixel 7 purchases last year that will expire later this month. Anyone have the Pixel Buds Series A? Seems like a no brainer to try them for $25 out of pocket.

Pixel 3 trade in value is still 150$!!! Great deal if you can buy pre-owned (70-80$ish) from outside and trade-in to buy new 8 /8pro.

I will take the 8pro for less than $200 out of pocket after trade in the pixel 7.
BTW, haven't they fixed the 8pro's issue yet after the launch?

Lots of comments about the reliability of Pixels. Can one expect an 8 Pro to last three years? I use both Apple and Android, but need a secondary phone I can use with multiple profiles. I have a discounted family plan with ATT and can trade in an old iPhone SE 2 and get an 8 Pro for free after bill credits. I am just afraid asking it to last three years might be a bit much based on the comments in this thread.

I've had the 3a, 4a, 6, 7 and 8.

They're fine... 6 had some iffy radio and battery. 4a was the best designed out of the bunch.

Based on what? Gaming is probably objectively worse on the Pixel, so that's one aspect. Can't speak to it because I don't game, but I've heard many reputable sources say it so I believe it. But day to day usability/UI fluidity, general app performance, and battery life (on the p8pro at least), the p8pro is on more or less on par with the contemporaries at the 1k price. If you rely on benchmarks to inform your decisions on smartphones, congrats: you've been brainwashed by the chipmakers into thinking those numbers directly correlate to day to day usability, which they very clearly don't.
