depends on what kind of video, 8k footage? I feel that the 4060 is sufficient.
My setup is intended for 4k video (maybe 6k in the future), using Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere & After effects.

GPU: Laptop 4070 > 4060 by ~ 17%
CPU: i9 - 13900HX > i7 - 13700HX by ~6%.

Source: userbenchmark.com, all under the conditions that it uses all the same components/parts except for the comparing CPU or GPU.

I'd preferably choose this laptop, because of a solid balance between the GPU, CPU and other parts, whereas the other one, CPU out balances the GPU by a lot.

Please make your own thoughtful decision, as I am not a professional/expert in computer parts.
Thanks for your feedback

How is this compared to the ROG Zephyrus M16 at BB for $1499 with i9? $200 more for i9 and 720p cam. Any other difference to consider?

If you could've picked up Zephyrus M16 at the open box price of ~$1050, that one would've been much better given better CPU and price (although you will need to throw in one more ram).

Seems to be a good deal? Tempted to pull the trigger on this one va the BH 13700hx/4060 for $30 less. Same screen specs.

Will this go any lower on BF??
Quote from pcdo :
Isn't $30 worth the upgrade to the 4070 or is there not much a difference in performance?
Yes, get the 4070. Total waste of money to get the 4060, especially for anyone who plans to play games.

There are 4060 laptops available for a lot less than $1,200.

No you go gpu upgrade over cpu. Trust
Yes exactly. nod It's a ridiculous question in the first place, but I guess some people really do not know.

For video editing purposes, assuming all other specs are the same and also same price, should be better to get:
13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900HX - GeForce RTX 4060
or
13th Gen Intel Core i7 13700HX - GeForce RTX 4070

TIA
For video editing purposes, start gaming like Elon Musk. At one point he was one of the best Quake 3 players. laugh out loud

Besides if you ever sell the laptop, a 4070 one will be worth hundreds more than one with a 4060.

Short answer without knowing your current and intended codec: go with better gpu. Higher bandwidth VRAM etc. Long answer is: it depends. 40 series all have the same media encode and decoder. For higher quality footage such as 8k 422 you will be bottlenecked by the decoder, not the raw horse power itself. For that matter 40 series decoder is actually the same as 30 series (except for the added AV1 which no camera shoots today, may change). Check out Pudget Sys articles for more fun reads!

So I just picked this up but I'm going to hold on to it just in case I find better BF deals. But I I'm also wondering given the fact that Costco offers an additional warranty for free and I just bought a 2-year warranty from Micro Center am I better off going back to Costco and purchasing the 1060 and I9 for the same price? 1299 @ Costco w/2 years warranty or 1299+269 w/3 @MC???
