Requires AT&T service and phone payment plan. You may want to include that in your title.

I have a feeling it'll trigger a fraud alert or whatever on their end. I opted to pay for this month of service and keep my Verizon account open from the iPhone 13 deal in anticipation of another deal.. looks like that will pay off.

On the plus side, at least with Verizon they specifically say it's a soft credit pull so if someone you know trusts you, you can open an account under their name if you just closed one under your own name.

How will it trigger a fraud alert? It does not get reported on your credit report if you cancel within 3 days. I can see you getting blacklisted from Verizon for canceling the IPhone 13 deal with them but I doubt it will affect ATT approval

Will Walmart not waive activation fee for AARP member? Buying for my mom and she is a member. I know AARP has a deal with ATT for waived activation fees.

Sure you can, but then you would lose the 36months of bill credits equating to $1000

You lose the monthly bill credits ONLY if you traded in an old phone to get the bill credits and committed a phone line to get 36 months of credits.

The commitment here is not the phone line (bill credits) but for financing the phone and it can be paid off as soon as you see the balance due amount via online account access. That is how you get the $300 / $400 / $500 Walmart gift card.

If you did not do a phone trade nor plan to trade in a phone, just do the installment plan online or in-store and pay it off once your account is created (if new customer) or if you are an existing customer your online account shows the balance due after your monthly billing cycle calculation date which is usually mid month.

Note - you still have to wait for 60 days to unlock the phone if you plan to use the phone on another cell carrier. Some here have reported that existing upgrade lines do not have to wait 60 days on ATT. Just pay it off once you see it on your ATT online account billing page and then request the unlock via the ATT Unlock form online. For Verizon, you still have to wait 60 days, but it is an automatic unlock, nothing done on the user end but to pay off the balance due so that you can cancel the line or account.

The only benefit of buying the phone in-store is so that you can put a much bigger down payment at the point of purchase and the pay off amount will be smaller. Still 1+1=2 so it doesn't really matter if you plan to pay it off right away after you see the balance due. But if you plan to pay if off in a few months, then the monthly payments will be smaller if you had put down a big down payment. There is no provision on paying down a bigger down payment when doing it online the previous years.

Using the eGift card trick for down payment on the second phone: If purchasing more than 1 phone, do it at the store. Reserve your desired phone and color when you get there so that your phone is allocated and not sold to someone else. Have them process the first phone individually and then have them wait 30 minutes before they process the 2nd phone. For the past several years, the eGift card have come in via email within 5-10 minutes of completing the first phone. This way you can use the eGift card to pay down the 2nd phone, and cascade it to a 3rd phone etc.

Use the highest value eGift card first: For example if buying an iPhone 14 Plus ($500 eGift card) and also an iPhone 15 Pro Max, make sure they process the 14 Plus transaction first so that you can use the $500 eGift card to pay down the iPhone 15 Pro Max as that one only gets $300 eGift card. This way your balanced due would be $1149 - $500 = $649 for pay off amount. Your monthly payment would be smaller too. It would be around $649 / 36 = $18 a month should you still want to pay if off via monthly installments. It is just a smart way to use up the Walmart eGift cards.

I am confused. On the linked Website it doesn't really have many T's & C's for Verizon. I am assuming you can trade in but how do you verify?

Based on fine print, it appears trade in for ATT only. But I'm guessing Verizon will do the same trade in they do today. To get max value you must be on top tier plan. Net, it's not worth it unless you are already on that plan.
Last year a lot of people had problems trying to do the trade in with VZ. They were told you could only do a trade in if you bought from them. Not sure if it's different this year.

Walmart doesn't charge you.. it would be ATT. If you're a member then it'll be waived when you get the bill

How do you reserve the desired phone exactly? Given there is a limited inventory and many people will try to do this deal right when it goes online

I am currently with AT&T Unlimited Premium with an available eligibility for AT&T trade in upgrade $1000 off 15 Pro model ($0/36mo).

Would I qualify as an existing customer?

Should I wait to upgrade for this, $1000 off + $300 Walmart gift card?

If I am adding a new line to att service and purchase the iPhone 14 plus. I am eligible for $500 GC. My question is can I trade in any qualifying device and get the $1000 bill credit as well for iPhone 14 plus ? Or only $500 GC is the only promotion in this case
