So what are the estimated costs of the iPhones once this is live? Their site and advertising for this is horrible, shocker!

and anyone able to confirm trade in credits for Verizon will work?

Okay So for people who are currently on Verizon older unlimited plans. Did you saw this. Got it from( payment options highlited above capacity) - https://www.walmart.com/ip/Verizo...1372019156

Upgrade fee of $40 applies for upgrades. If your line has a legacy unlimited data feature and you continue with your upgrade, you will lose unlimited data and will be put on a 2 GB plan for $30/month plus all applicable upgrade fee, line access fee and all other fees, charges and taxes. If your line has any other plan, your plan will not be changed with this transaction

I am currently on verizon 5g start 1.0 plan. So will I be put to 2gb plan as well?

I don't like these gift card deals because your still stuck paying the 25-35$ a month for one of these over 36 months. But "oh at least you can save on future purchases at Walmart". I only care about saving on the phone and nothing else

No, I think that is just referring to some super, super old grandfathered plans. I have the new Verizon unlimited plan which predates any 5g plans and that language has been in every upgrade I've done for the past few years and I've never had a problem keeping my old plan. Since your plan is even newer than mine I'm sure you'll be fine.

You lose the monthly bill credits ONLY if you traded in an old phone to get the bill credits and committed a phone line to get 36 months of credits.

The commitment here is not the phone line (bill credits) but for financing the phone and it can be paid off as soon as you see the balance due amount via online account access. That is how you get the $300 / $400 / $500 Walmart gift card.

If you did not do a phone trade nor plan to trade in a phone, just do the installment plan online or in-store and pay it off once your account is created (if new customer) or if you are an existing customer your online account shows the balance due after your monthly billing cycle calculation date which is usually mid month.

Note - you still have to wait for 60 days to unlock the phone if you plan to use the phone on another cell carrier. Some here have reported that existing upgrade lines do not have to wait 60 days on ATT. Just pay it off once you see it on your ATT online account billing page and then request the unlock via the ATT Unlock form online. For Verizon, you still have to wait 60 days, but it is an automatic unlock, nothing done on the user end but to pay off the balance due so that you can cancel the line or account.

The only benefit of buying the phone in-store is so that you can put a much bigger down payment at the point of purchase and the pay off amount will be smaller. Still 1+1=2 so it doesn't really matter if you plan to pay it off right away after you see the balance due. But if you plan to pay if off in a few months, then the monthly payments will be smaller if you had put down a big down payment. There is no provision on paying down a bigger down payment when doing it online the previous years.

Using the eGift card trick for down payment on the second phone: If purchasing more than 1 phone, do it at the store. Reserve your desired phone and color when you get there so that your phone is allocated and not sold to someone else. Have them process the first phone individually and then have them wait 30 minutes before they process the 2nd phone. For the past several years, the eGift card have come in via email within 5-10 minutes of completing the first phone. This way you can use the eGift card to pay down the 2nd phone, and cascade it to a 3rd phone etc.

Use the highest value eGift card first: For example if buying an iPhone 14 Plus ($500 eGift card) and also an iPhone 15 Pro Max, make sure they process the 14 Plus transaction first so that you can use the $500 eGift card to pay down the iPhone 15 Pro Max as that one only gets $300 eGift card. This way your balanced due would be $1149 - $500 = $649 for pay off amount. Your monthly payment would be smaller too. It would be around $649 / 36 = $18 a month should you still want to pay if off via monthly installments. It is just a smart way to use up the Walmart eGift cards.
GUYS! read this! before asking questions

If you want to keep your plan, then no. I have the same plan and as far as I know if the deal involves deal credits then they'll make you change your plan to one of the new ones. So for this deal if you want to keep your old plan you can't do a trade-in, but you can still get the gift card. The only places you can upgrade your phone for any kind of deal anymore are Best Buy and Walmart, as long as it is either a deal that gives a lump sum off at the front (no monthly credit) or a gift card like this. All trade-ins and deals that are directly from Verizon will require you to change your plan, so don't even bother looking at their offers.

I've been looking for a deal on an iPhone 14 Plus to upgrade my MIL's old XR, and this is the best price I've seen by far even without being able to trade anything in.
This is not true. I also have the same plan and get offers from Verizon on my account that say they are good on any unlimited plan. I already took advantage of one (sent them an old iPhone 11 Pro for $730 in credits off a 15 Pro); I've been debating if I want to do that for more lines. I might try to see if I can stack that offer with the Walmart gift card....

Is the phone price, on the 1st page, the total of all payments in the phone installment plan?

Will the installment plan payoff be that phone price minus any installment payments already made?

It didn't upgrade you to a current or recent unlimited plan? I've never been offered a single trade-in or deal from Verizon that didn't require upgrading to one of their current unlimited plans, and trust me I do check. If you are in fact able to get such a great trade-in deal with an old discontinued plan then I'm jealous as I've never ever been able to do that and I have 10 lines with them so spend a lot every month. How did you get this offer, was it targeted?

I chatted with Verizon today and they offered $830 for trade in on my current plan. I am on the newer, I think, welcome unlimited. I have 7 lines around $30 each plus have the $10 a line loyalty kicking in next month (previous Slickdeal post). So yes you can get trade in credits with current plan. Higher cost plans = $1000 credit over 36 months.

And then what? You pay off the 14+ instead of being with ATT expensive plans for 36 months ?
That is correct. Pay it off once your account shows the remaining balance due for that line. The ATT account will show installment 1 of 36 for your first payment due. On the same page there is a pay off amount inquiry. Click on that to show balance due, click through to the payment processing page to pay it off. From then on, cancel your line or account or port out to auto cancel if you want to keep that number.

If before 60 days, you need to wait until 60 days after activation date to request the carrier unlock. If past 60 days, click on the unlock phone link to take you to the ATT unlock portal and fill out the form. Within a few business days you will get a completion email or a denial email if you didn't meet the criteria to unlock. If for an iPhone, upon inserting a new SIM card, the Apple activation servers will unlock the phone by itself. If on a Samsung, the email will contain the carrier unlock code to key in when you insert a non ATT SIM.

Yes the installment fees = phone price / 36. Please note there are state taxes due at check out depending on your state and local city tax rates.

Once your ATT line is added to an existing account or a new ATT account is created if new customer, you should be able to see the installment information online before the next hill cycle due date. It will say Installment 1 of 36. There is also a link there for pay off amount. Click through to see the amount due and click pay now to pay it off.

Total due = phone price - whatever you paid down during the phone purchase - any installments paid up so far. (Taxes were paid at check out time during the purchase)

Interesting, I'll have to try chatting. It looks like your Welcome Unlimited plan was phased out earlier this year though and mine is I think 6 years old, so not sure they'll do it for such an old plan. I do see a current deal on their website for $830 trade in but it requires select unlimited plans. They'd really like me to upgrade because then I'd have to pay more lol, and it'll be even less soon since I should also have that loyalty $10/line kicking in as well. Worth trying though!

ETA: my plan is not eligible for any promotions according to Verizon, it is too old. I've heard of people being offered loyalty discounts that work with any plan but I have never been offered one unfortunately.
