1. Trade in device and use that credit to pay off phone in 36months while keeping phone plan. For UU on verizon this comes up to (100avg x 36) - 300 Walmart GC
2. No trade in, but pay off phone immediately within 3 days of receiving to avoid activation fees. For the iphone 15 pro, this comes up to be 999- 300 Walmart GC regardless what plan you choose.
Follow steps included this wiki to port out your locked device to other carrier.
I have no horse in this race but here is the email you get from Walmart. Watch your SPAM FOLDERS.

AT&T details
Order/cancel? Activation starts on ship date (or store activation date). AT&T does not prorate after 3 days, so if you don't receive the device by the 3rd day you have to pay for the entire month of service.
To get the activation fees waived (if you're not cancelling within 3 days) be sure to sign up for AARP. It can be free or almost free
https://slickdeals.net/f/17039080-aarp-1-year-for-free-or-4-capital-one-offer-or-chase-card-offer-and-maybe-make-money-see-details-and-free-power-cord-charger-or-trunk-organizer
- Contact AT&T over chat and ask them to waive your activation fee since it's an AARP benefit. This will save $35/line.
- Set up autopay from att.com or MyAtt app to save $10/line/month (debit; or credit -$5/month).
- Do you have AT&T fiber home internet? Contact AT&T over chat to "bundle" home internet plus wireless for a $20/month discount. You can also sign up for home internet after getting wireless to receive the same $20/month discount. There are loads of sign-up offers include $350 gift card back for new customers https://slickdeals.net/f/17073514-new-at-t-fiber-customers-purchase-at-t-fiber-internet-plan-300mbps-get-up-to-350-in-reward-cards-or-logitech-g-cloud-gaming-handheld-device-6-200-reward-card
- Pay off installment plan from MyAtt app or at att.com. You can do this as soon as activated/device ships.
- Turn on iPhone and let it activate with the pushed AT&T eSim (should be automatic once connected to wifi). Make a phone call.
- Transfer the AT&T eSim to another unlocked iPhone. "Use eSIM Quick Transfer on iPhone" Procedure https://support.apple.c
om/en-us/HT212780
- Make a call on the unlocked iPhone. Check in myAtt or att.com and check every few minutes until the unlocked iPhone shows up in your account as your device.
- Request unlock https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/ as a non-ATT customer, with non-ATT phone# and email for the new iPhone
- Check email and click to acknowledge unlock request. May take a few minutes to receive this.
- Wait for unlock approval email. It could take only a few minutes or up to a day
- new iPhone will be unlocked once you try a different provider eSIM. You can either use a new eSIM or transfer one from your other iPhone.
- If you want to, cancel AT&T service over chat or phone so that you don't go beyond 3 days post activation. If you instead want to keep the service, do everything I mentioned above to bring your monthly cost down.
Edit: AT&T chat is closed on the weekend I called reseller support and they refused to cancel the line and said I had to wait 30 days. I had to port out to another carrier.- Call *PORT on the new iPhone to get a porting pin. You also need your wireless account number (displayed when you login to att.com).
- I had a great experience porting to usmobile.com for their 50 day free trial. Just sign up and fill out the details including port (AT&T Postpaid, account number, port pin). Transfer completed in minutes!
Verizon details
- check out the recent iPhone 13 community wiki on unlock (60 days on iPhone 14/15!), pay off, 3 day rule etc. for Verizon
https://slickdeals.net/f/17028796-verizon-or-at-t-128gb-apple-iphone-13-new-or-added-line-8-30-mo-for-36-months-299-total-more-free-s-h
- We haven't found a way to unlock the iPhone 14/15 like we did the 13 because it has an eSIM assigned that gets activated on boot, and no physical SIM card. Also the phones are showing Verizon locked and not flex reseller policy. It will automatically unlock 60 days post activation however.

Second, make sure your tell the cell phone kiosk person that you need each cell phone processed separately about 30 minutes apart to allow you to receive the e-gift cards via email. After the first phone is processed and the taxes and down payment rung up at the register, you should be receiving the e-gift card momentarily via email.
Once you receive it, have the cell phone kiosk person process the second phone and tell them you are putting down a $300 down payment for that one. Therefore at the register you will give the e-gift card code and PIN to redeem it and then pay for the taxes on your phone to close out that transaction and shortly after you will receive the e-gift card numbers for that second phone.
What I don't understand is the 3 day cancel. Many here say to cancel within 3 days. Yes you can cancel within 3 days if you did it at the store because you would have received all 3 e-gift cards via email already. However there is no way to pay off the phones within 3 days. Maybe call customer service to get the account number and go to a Verizon store to pay the balance off or pay over the phone the next day?
Therefore the ones who are cancelling within 3 days to save on activation fees and a prorated service bill are maybe just waiting for a collections bill to pay off the phones when that bill comes. Verizon phones do Auto Unlock after 60 days but does the account need to be in good standing? Would a defaulted account cancel that unlock process and the phone's IMEI blacklisted?
I have never done a Verizon one, I have ATT. Last 5 years I have upgraded lines as well as added new lines to get this promo successfully. New lines I have cancelled 60 days later after I see the financing balance due amount after the first bill cycle and clicked through to pay it off online. Then I had to fill out the online form for the unlock request. Since I have had 60 days of service and the financing is paid off, every unlock request has been fulfilled successfully.
The 3 at the store I staggered it so that I can apply the e-gift card from the first phone to the second phone and the second phone's e-gift card to the third phone. At the end I only had 1 e-gift card left to spend.
Has anyone actually done hte egift card trick themselves? I just imagine with BF deals, the desk will be swamped with people and it might be tricky to get the person to wait 30 minutes and then process the other phones no?
Now it is all electronic and via email. If your store is swamped they usually put you in an appointment calendar to come back later. This is where you want separate appointment times per phone to allow you time to receive the email with the card number and PIN for redemption.
Year after year I have yet to see any documentation from anyone here regarding paying off the financing balance due within 3 days so that one can cancel in 3 days without the account going into default.
Are they simply just waiting for the collections bill to come and then paying it off at that point?
