- Pay off installment plan from MyAtt app or at att.com. You can do this as soon as activated/device ships.
- Turn on iPhone and let it activate with the pushed AT&T eSim (should be automatic once connected to wifi). Make a phone call.

Edit: AT&T chat is closed on the weekend I called reseller support and they refused to cancel the line and said I had to wait 30 days. I had to port out to another carrier.- Call *PORT on the new iPhone to get a porting pin. You also need your wireless account number (displayed when you login to att.com).

- We haven't found a way to unlock the iPhone 14/15 like we did the 13 because it has an eSIM assigned that gets activated on boot, and no physical SIM card. Also the phones are showing Verizon locked and not flex reseller policy. It will automatically unlock 60 days post activation however.

The only way to unlock is to pay it off, so without it's the process wouldn't even start. Have you try to contact Walmart Wireless and tell them to fix the issue ? I suspect all they need is type in the IMEI and sent it over to ATT.
Or just wait till you get response from ATT, look like they identify it as a replacement phone so it would be possible to unlock on ATT end
I wonder if anyone else tried calling Walmart to try and get it fixed. I seem to think of Walmart as incompetent. And I hate being the guinea pig - but meanwhile despite the chat agent yesterday giving me the failure reason as "Device Shipping Incomplete," the error is still showing as active on my account , not the database error since the last swap. The database error is the one that is correct and ties to the "device shipping incomplete" - I guess I should just wait for ATT response and then if they fail , I can try to call Walmart , this is a big mess. Got my first bill finally.
This morning I tried the unlock request and I got the error "The device you want to unlock is active on another AT&T account. The account owner needs to remove the device from their account first. For assistance, call 800.331.0500."

Not a big deal, in fact it might make it so you can unlock immediately. Wait until the new iPhone shows "reseller flex policy" on sickw.com (free iPhone sim lock). Pay off the phone. Use an AT&T mvno eSIM like tracfone/att red pocket/gsma, h2o. Make sure to specify the new iPhone imei when generating the eSIM. When you boot it up first time hopefully it activates on the mvno eSIM and you can request unlock from att portal as non-customer.
Note: link on the reseller flex policy. Your iPhone locks to first eSIM it boots on, so be careful! Tracfone should be a safe one since it's owned by Verizon. https://discussions.app
