I got the espresso maker but it's not great and I read some people saying the portafilter baskets were defective but didn't go into detail. I'm concerned that the basket hole is not punched fully hence the espresso isn't fully being brewed. Can someone confirm what the basket puncture should look like? I tried blowing through the basket and it appears air is escaping but not sure.

it should ben only 1 tiny hole at the bottom

"Just a Dad" uses a medium grind or pre ground coffee for it. Any tips?
My machine couldn't pull a shot with fine espresso grind. Had to make it step courser. However if you use coarse grind you'll get weak shots with less crema.

Mine was shipped with just a label on the box it comes in. The tape left sticky marks all over and I have been unable to remove it from the milk frother tub. The top of mine looks a little dented as well. Have not tried it yet but will likely return it.

Sure, if you have a grinder. I assume you were referring to whole bean Super Crema. Since this machine uses pressurized filter baskets, there should be no issue with using most inexpensive coffee grinders. If you don't have or want to use a grinder, you can always buy pre-ground espresso coffee.

At first I was extremely disappointed and I questioned if the portafilter basket was defective. Today I ground my beans using the finest setting of my grinder (I was previously using a coarse grind for my coffee maker) and it turned out very well. I didn't know much about making espresso so this wasn't clear to me, but now I see that a real fine grind gets you a lot more flavour.

Yeah, I wasted 29 minutes trying to remove the sticker residue. Horrible. Ended scratching the plastic on the back water container. For the silver finish I finally had to use acetone nail polish remover to remove it. They were pretty bad eye sores.

This is a decent video also and the guy mentioned about the sticky residue after removing the stickers.
