Because now my daily driver is PC Master Race and I could not be any farking happier. $5K up-front on one build sure doesn't look too bad when factoring in these subscription prices. Especially when you factor in the wife's subscription also. Now I even converted her to PC. So now I just buy the new parts every year, hand her down my now 1-year-old parts, and sell the 2-year old ones and get 70-95% of the cost back from the new price.
Idc wtf they want to say, no console could dream of making anything as pretty or fluid (fps) as my 4090.
I'm not trying to sound elitist, just trying to convey how truly disgusted I am with PS. I've spent nearly $10k the last 2 years building PCs to avoid them! I'm not paying $500 for a console, $70 for each game, $55 per month for my ISP (YMMV), AND this extortion price for Plus just so I can have *one* place to buy digital games, free subscription-locked shovelware every month, access to a cesspool of online cheaters, and a network that you can bet money will probably get hacked every Christmas. Jim Ryan has clearly been hitting Dr. Funky's Space Weed hard af the last few years.
I've built two powerful gaming PCs in pretty much got out of consoles altogether four years ago.
But I'm done with the PC scene.
I got a brand new PS five for $400 on sale. I got an Xbox series S for $150 on sale. And I don't remember what I paid for my switch but it wasn't a lot.
I can own every single console and all of the best games in the world for less than the cost of my $1200 GPU on my last PC build.
And not only that, but the exclusive console games come out sooner.
I just beat Spider-Man two. Just beat God of war Ragnarok. Just beat Final Fantasy 16.
I got tired of waiting two or three years for those kind of games to make it to the computer if they ever did it all.
I can tell a small downgrade in the visuals, but honestly gaming on my LGOE TV, it still looks pretty stinking amazing on the consoles.
Paying to play online does suck but I guess as an Xbox gamer going way back I've been used to paying $50 a year for Xbox live since 2007.
