Cheap New Phone (Samsung Note 8 Equiv or Better?) for T-Mobile Senior+ user ❓

I currently have a Samsung Note 8 - on T-Mobile for 55+ (seniors) plan that I had for years.
Can anyone give me advice how to get a new phone of equal or better quality for a low amount of income? I am on a senior budget & not sure how to get a good deal these days.
I do need the quality of the phone to be the same or better, bc some Apps dont work on this phone anymore ("not compatible with this phone") and I need good technology for my business/work.
I would like to keep the Senior Plan on T-Mobile which is about $30/month as I have other users on the plan as well. I am only familiar with Android. The Pen is not necessary but nice.
Range is $300-500 ish.
