Yes.

You port in a GV number as your 5th line.

After you get the new iPhone - go across to a store, and have them swap the sims; you MAY need to wait for the first month to get the bill credits going before swapping.
Question about doing the sim swap after I port over my GV# to XM (would be my 5th line). Going to order new Iphone 15 with that # being ported over from GV. My kid currently has an Iphone 12 on XM and wants the new Iphone 15. You replied to me before that we can have XM do the sim swap for us at the XM store - Our Iphone 12 has a physical sim whereas the new Iphone 15 will have an esim.

My question is what happens when we do the swap? I know my daughters Iphone 12 phone# would come over the new Iphone 15 but what about all her apps and stuff she has in the cloud, etc? Basically when doing the sim swap would everything from her current Iphone 12 be moved over the the Iphone 15? We've never done a sim swap before so i'm not sure if it works like getting a new phone for your line where all your "stuff" from your old phone transfers over?

How's their service?
Do they use Verizon towers?
I tried Visible (lower plan) who uses verizon towers before and it was so deprioritized that it was unusable (Their premium plan was good)
Yes, they do use Verizon towers. I live in the Nashville area and they cover areas that TMo did not. I haven't used any xfinity services for over 20 years and their customer service sucks but the coverage is better. I also get 400 meg internet for $30/month and you can find out what your mobile service would cost. I'm not huge fan of Xfniity because of their offshore customer service but that's pretty much the same with all telecoms now. But the bang for the buck is much better than when I used Tmo for mobile and ATT fiber internet service for the same speed.

What happens if I use a non-XM phone on a line that I bought an XM phone on and don't use the XM phone at all. Will the discount continue to come through while making monthly payments for that XM phone? I don't really want to use an XM phone, but I'll buy one since there is a discount. I really just want a line to use with my current non-XM unlocked phone.
With physical SIM. Yes you can insert XM sim card to any XM/VZ compatible phone and continue to enjoy the discount. I am not sure if esim works the same.

How much is their $30 per month plan really once you add in taxes and fees?
I'm paying $30/month plus $19.90 after credit for a phone, $15 for protection plan and $6.51 for taxes for a total of $101.41. If I didn't have a phone or protection it would be $66.51. Hard to beat that deal.

I tried to insert a snip of my bill but didn't see that option

1) When you receive the new iPhone 15 : set it up using the same "Apple ID" that your daughter's iPhone 12 has. That will copy over all apps / data etc. You MAY get a question about adding the new number to the Apple ID; decline that part, since you want to keep the old phone number for your daughter. If unsure or need help - you can get this done at the XM store.

2) Then go across to the XM store for the necessary sim swap. They will basically activate another eSIM on the new iPhone 15 with the number from your daughter's phone; that pSIM will get deactivated. They will activate a new pSim on the iPhone 12 (or reuse the old pSIM) with the new number.

You COULD set up the iPhone 15 without Apple ID initially and then add it after the sim swap; but I recommend doing it first, so that you can be sure or get help at the XM store.

Two parts. If you don't want the XM phone - you can go the BYOD route. Since the XM phone would be locked for 24 months - you can't use it elsewhere either; so rather than a "discount", you may be better off just going BYOD.

The other : If you do decide to buy a phone : Yes - you can move the pSIM to another phone; as long as it supports all bands needed for Verizon (LTE band 13 / VOLTE etc.), should work. You MAY get some nag messages about having switched the phone, but can ignore it. In this situation - you don't ask for the CS to switch your device detail. Note that this works with pSim; to switch eSIM it has to be done by the CS and is tied to the IMEI of the device.

If you swap sims between XM phones or with a non XM phone, will it affect the XM phone future unlock? For this deal, since it is under 2 years DPP, you can not use the XM phone on other providers or trade in during the 2 years, right?

Thanks. BYOD does make sense but my thought was for example, I could grab a a galaxy S23 FE for $100 instead of getting nothing with BYOD. Any way to know which of the phones they use pSim with?

Thank you for the very informative post as this helps me greatly. If I set up the IPhone 15 with the Apple ID my daughter uses on her current Iphone 12 what apple ID and apps, etc will be on the Iphone 12 once the new number is pegged to the Iphone 12? Would it still show her Apple ID and apps, etc or would we make a new Apple ID, etc at that point for the Iphone 12? I'm not sure if you can run (2) different Iphones with the same Apple ID?

I think you are making thing too complicated.

1. The most important thing you need to worry about is to transfer the working number from your daughter Iphone 12 to the new Iphone 15 that you will be getting. Since transferring from physical sim to ESIM is not straight forward. Why worry about all the apps and all that if the phone you're trying to use can't make the calls because the number hasn't been transfer to the new phone.

2. Once the new phone is working. You can use the same apple ID that was used in iphone 12 to your iphone 15. You can do a backup to icloud on iphone 12, then install from iphone 15.

3. I use same the apple ID on 3 iphones that I have.

Sorry just trying not to screw this process up,lol. I did just place my order for the Iphone 15 from XM and that went smoothly. I unlocked my GV# before entering the GV# I'm transferring over into the Xfinity order information. XM never asked me for a Pin# which I had set up yesterday on the GV# yesterday - not sure if it's normal that XM wouldn't need that info to port the GV# over or not?

Hopefully the port over goes smoothly I just assumed XM would ask for a pin# for the transfer. I know porting over from GV can take awhile but how do I know when the port from GV has been sucessfully completed? Is there a way I can check?

You will know the porting is completed when you able to make a phone call from your new device.

Ok I wasn't sure if there was a way to see if the port is completed before I even receive the device. Did XM as you for a pin# to transfer your GV#? Like I mentioned I just entered the GV# I'm transferring to XM but they didn't ask me for a pin# which I had previously set.

Hopefully not asking for a pin# is normal and won't screw up or hold up the porting process.
