- It is locked to Total By Verizon but most Total by Verizon sim kits show both "Total by Verizon" and "Straight Talk" logos on it. So to be safe consider those networks or Tracfone direct as Network options. May be able to "rebrand" for Page Plus usage but most reps don't do that anymore.
- Some people have reported you only need to pay for one month but you MUST wait for 60 days to officially unlock the device. You can pay for 2 months if you want to be on the safe side.
- Once unlocked(after 60 day wait period) it is essentially the unlocked North American Google Edition so it will be the same as buying a normal Unlocked Pixel 6a directly from Google when they were sold through Google. Note: OEM Bootloader Unlock is permently disabled as it is from a Carrier not From Google Direct.
- Some people have noted a few things about this phone that were not great: Fingerprint unlock is not as smooth as other phones, Heating issues(I did experience this one), Poor network reception as it is using the First gen Tensor modem like the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.
- Target Employees may be able to get an additional discount on the phone, but after Target learned about the Slickdealer abuse of Team Member numbers and discount they changed the way you access the TM Discount now and it is no longer a Team Member number anymore. In Short: You must actually work for Target now and work for at least 1-3 days to use the new way to get a TM Discount. "TM's that are caught giving random people a TM discount and is using their discount in a way that is against Target's rules can be disciplined up to them losing their job". "TM's can share their discount with "select people" that Target deems eligible like Spouse's and select other people".
5% off with Redcard still applies to everyone weather a Team Member or consumer. So you might want to try and sign up for a Debit Redcard so that you can get that 5% off any time you shop at Target with No Monthly Card fee(Active Bank account required as transactions will be pulled from that account).
- Lastly: If you sign up with Total by Verizon you can get Disney+ included for either 6 months or for the life of the plan depending on which plan you Choose. Total plans that include Disney+ for the life of the plan are not subjected to rate increases.
Or
Sign up with the Straight Talk Gold or Platinum plan and get Walmart+ Included for the life of the plan. Walmart + now includes Paramount+ as well so you will get that included too.

Paid $99 plus tax and "Activation Successful" is printed on the receipt. I asked the Target employee if buying two months TBV service was required for the discount, and he said no, "just buy service online whenever you want."
So if this phone is already activated, will it unlock in 60 days regardless of whether I've had it on TBV?
Or do I need to be connected TBV service for the unlock to occur?
If I interpret the OP to the letter, this won't unlock since I didn't buy 60 days of service at same transaction as the phone?
I'm in no rush to unlock this, 60 days is fine, but I will ultimately be using it on AT&T so ideally would pay as little as possible for any service necessary to achieve unlock.
I doubt its a used or refurb phone . . . my assumption is that the phones were removed for re-configuration (updates/locking/bootloader locking) or maybe to put a TBV SIM inside the box. But I haven't opened the box yet to inspect the phone. Waiting to clarify & get comfortable with the sequence to unlocking and eventually using on AT&T
Activate then wait for Auto Unlock on 60th day.
Did you need to contact customer support for rebranding?
But the date of activation (on which the 60 days originates) will be my purchase date (today) and not the first day of service, correct?
Or are you suggesting that the receipt is completely misrepresenting the activation status, and the 60 day clock doesn't start ticking until I initiate service?

I've done this multiple times. For further reading, go read the tracfone iphone threads.
