    In case there are any fellow Lefties looking at this:

    I have been trying out the Remarkable 2 for a week or so, and also bought the Scribe last night to compare. So far, while the Remarkable 2 is more polished, feels higher-end, etc., the Scribe is winning by a large margin for me for one simple reason: it works for left-handed people in a way the RM2 does not. The RM2 does not rotate when you turn the screen upside down (the top and bottom bezels are not even so I get this), which means you hold it by the thin edge vs. the side bezel for right-handed users. I could get used to that, but the main problem I have is that the Close/X button is in the top left corner and I am constantly hitting it with my palm and closing out of documents. They both have generous return periods so will continue to try them both, but so far I love the Scribe, esp for the price after the trade-in.

    I am really liking this Kindle Scribe for note taking. Got a "used" one in "acceptable" condition, but the one they sent was the refurbished version and looked brand new. Can't beat that for $170+ tax I paid. Also purchased a Remarkable 2 to compare. RM2 is much more sleek looking and has a nice leather case (I haven't found a Scribe case that is this slim) and has a tad bit better writing experience, but the backlit display on Scribe, how fast it responds, and futureproofing potential (Scribe came in 2022 vs RM2 from 2000 with Scribe having much better hardware) combined with Scribe having more functionality makes me want to keep Scribe and return/sell my RM2.

    Scribe's bigger and heavier, and the Paperwhite is right around a size/weight sweet spot so it is still manageable one-handed especially reading in bed or in transit. The Scribe will be a lot harder or tiring to use one-handed or lifted off a table, a case with a rear hand strap can help with holding but the weight can still be limiting. The advantage to the Scribe is you can elect to use two-column ebook layout so it reads more like a paper book w/ facing pages without sacrificing font size, or you can increase font size more. And the Scribe will be better at PDFs and non-reflowing formats than the Paperwhite b/c of the larger screen. Neither one are all that great at PDF though, but the Scribe at least can do it in a pinch.

    So far loving the scribe. I'm switching over from a remarkable 1st gen for notetaking. And it's so much snappier and responsive. The best part is Kindle is one of the best e-readers. It integrates with your local public library through libby and you have easy access to digital books. The two columns/pages mode is fantastic for reading. Feels like you actually have a book in your hands. And the battery life is unbelievable good lol. Just 20% battery used in a week and i'm constantly downloading books and reading

    I traded in a base model 8th gen kindle I got on black friday 2016 for $50.

    Amazon somehow offered a $15 credit on top of the $48 (20%) discount. Total came out to $189.

    That's insane. Amazon gave me $63 for something I paid $50 for 7 years ago lol

    I'm debating whether I should buy a new tablet for note-taking. Currently, I use an iPad and a Samsung S9 Plus tablet, but I have some concerns. One major issue is that the only way to export notes from the Scribe app is through email, and there is no option to annotate on the current page. This means that the notes feel more like an add-on associated with the book, rather than actually writing on the pages.
    Although I'm not an active student, I rely heavily on taking notes on my iPad and Samsung tablet, especially when I convert images to PDF and annotate them for better recall in the future. I don't want to invest in something that will end up unused and discarded after a few years. I've read many honest and unpaid reviews that suggest there is not much practical advantage to using this new tablet over my iPad. I'm curious if there are real people who have used it, rather than just those who bought it because of a discount or trade-in offer.
    I would appreciate any insights from fellow users who have experience with this tablet and can provide an honest evaluation of its worth. Thank you in advance for your help!

    I read through the reviews. Like all Amazon electronics, it makes sense to wait for v2 next Thanksgiving. By then they would have worked out all the kinks and issues in a refresh.

    I have had my scribe for about a year now and I have a Paperwhite (traded it a while back for my voyage ). I love the scribe , especially for text books and PDFs . I also use it for note taking while studying . I still keep my Paperwhite around though because it's small and light weight which makes reading in bed a lot easier .

    Just commenting about my initial experience after receiving my scribe. This thing is phenomenal.

    I had zero interest in the note taking features, but I wanted an e reader with a larger screen for a while. I even considered getting a DX a couple of times. This is definitely a DX 2 spiritual successor.

    It's the same kindle experience as my voyage. Just a much bigger display. That's all I wanted. E readers are a mature product. It's not exciting. I wanted a bigger display and that's exactly what I got. 5 stars.
